Paul Wilson, Head of the Department of Chemistry and his wife Jasmine Wilson, batting for Christian Carnatic Music: One of the most obvious yet unspoken contributions of Christianity to Carnatic music is the violin. This stringed instrument, which is an integral part of any Carnatic concert today entered the fray through Christian proponents.  Vedanayagam Sastriar, a Christian, who is known to have composed hundreds of Carnatic keerthanas, learnt to play the instrument as a 12-year-old from German missionary Friedrich Schwarz in 1786. He went to pass on the art to Vadivelu Pillai, who became the ‘Asthana Vidwan’ in the court of renowned Carnatic composer Raja Svati Tirunal of Travancore. Baluswamy Dikshitar, brother of Muthuswamy Dikshitar, one of the Carnatic trinity, is known to have been the first person to infuse the violin into Carnatic compositions using the ‘Sa Pa Sa Pa’ string tuning which is still followed today. But like Vedanayagam Sastriar, Baluswamy Dikshitar also learnt the violin from European Christians. “He is said to have learnt to play the violin from a band in Fort St. George,” said Paul, explaining the role that Baluswamy’s patron, Manali Muthukrishna Mudaliar, played in arranging the interaction with the East India Company. It is a funny argument that just because the violin is used by the Carnatic players that Christinity contributed o the Carnatic music. nowadays, “keyboards’ are also used replacing many instruments and real instrumentalists, who used to play physically exhibiting their talents. However, it is not known that anybody could claim that the “keyboard” also contributed to Carnatic music and so on.

The Ragavendra family of singers[1]: Kalpana Raghavendar (born 8 May 1980) is an Indian playback singer, winner of Idea Star Singer Malayalam and participant in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1, songwriter and actor. She started her career as a playback singer at the age of five, and as of 2013 had recorded 1,500 tracks and performed in 3,000 shows in India and abroad. Her father, T. S. Raghavendra (19 September 1945 – 30 January 2020) was an Indian actor, playback singer and occasional music director who concentrated on Tamil-language films. As an actor, he was known as the father character of actress Revathi in Vaidehi Kathirunthal. He also gave music for a few films like Uyir (old Tamil film), Padikkatha Paadam and Yaaga Saalai. His wife Sulochana is also a singer. His daughter Shekinah Shawn (born Prasanna Raghavendar) who is popular as an Opera singer and daughter Kalpana is also playback singer. These details are repeated in Wikipedia and other internet sources. As they have been probably Telugu speaking or Telugu knowing, all were singing in Telugu also. Particularly, these two daughters have been performing in Telugu mostly. While Shekhinah has been conducting Christian  crusade programmes, Kalpana does all sorts, including TV shows and all. Of course, she has sung on and for Christians also and there has been rumours and gossips[2] about her “conversion to Christianity.”

Name changed as Thirumathi Prasanna was converted to Christianity with the name of Shekhiah Shwan Jazeel on 24-07-2005: The Tamilnadu Gazettee recorded that[3], “Thirumathi Prasanna, R., (Hindu), wife of Thiru Shawn Jazeel, born on 22nd January 1982 (native district: Chennai), residing at Old No. 21, New No. 39, Ponnambalam Salai, West K.K. Nagar, Chennai-600 078, has converted to Christianity with the name of SHEKHINAH SHAWN JAZEEL on 24th July 2005. PRASANNA, R. Chennai, 24th October 2008”. It is a government document and available in public domain. Therefore, it is evident that born from an orthodox Hindu family, that too, Brahmin got converted to Christianity. Even today, she claims, “Shekhinah Shawn was born in a Brahmin Hindu family,” to declare that she could possess such Carnatic musical background only because, she learned that tradition from the acclaimed gurus.

Kalpana Ragavendra’s achievements: In 2010 she was the winner of the south Indian singing show Star Singer season 5, conducted by the Malayalam TV channel Asianet. she was a judge of Super Singer Junior 6. Kalpana was born in a musical family. Her father, T. S. Raghavendra, was a reputed playback singer, actor and composer, while her mother, Sulochana, is also a singer. She has a younger sister, Shekinah Shawn (born Prasanna Raghavendar) who is popular as an Opera singer. Kalpana took her Carnatic music lessons under Madurai T. Srinivasan. Apart from her proficiency in singing, she holds a Master of Computer Applications degree and is pursuing Master of Philosophy. Kalpana began her musical career at the age of 5. Her first vocals were for a family song alongside P. Susheela, Mano, M. M. Srilekha and her younger sister Prasanna, composed by the music director Saluri Vasurao.

 Kalpana Ragavendra – Associated with the Carnatic musicians: As an adult, she started her career as a full-fledged playback singer in 1999 by rendering her voice for the song Mangalagouriki from the Telugu film Manoharam under music director Mani Sharma. She has also worked with many legendary composers and singers like M. S. Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraaja, A. R. Rahman, K. V. Mahadevan, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and K. S. Chithra. She is more familiar to the public as a stage performer rather than a playback singer, having performed nearly 3000 stage shows worldwide. In 2013, Kalpana was the lead performer in a tribute concert for her guru, Madurai T. Srinivasan. It has to be noted that the media tries / wants to conceal the identity of the accused, and even the names, though, some publish, some others do not . Here, also the caption says, “priest,” thus readers could imagine any religion, particularly, Hindu.

How a “born as a Brahmn Hindu” became “a Christian”[4]: Shekhinah Shawn though converted to Christianity, she continued to claim that she, “was born in a Brahmin Hindu family”! Her evangelist website, social media and and Christian gatherings has been publicizing about her as follows: “Shekhinah Shawn was born in a Brahmin Hindu family. An acclaimed vocalist and perhaps the best Opera singer in India, Ms Shawn achieved excellence in Western and Classical Music at an early age. She has received numerous accolades and awards and is the only Indian to receive a Fellow of Trinity School of London (FTCL) – the highest examination offered in Western Classical for vocal. She has performed at various Mega Music Concerts and has been playback singer in some Tamil movies. Gifted with a mellifluous voice cadence, Ms Shawn has successfully performed in languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English and Spanish. She has been published in the National Daily ‘The Hindu’ a number of times”.

Encounter with Jesus Christ: The Shekhiashawn website continues, “After she met her Husband, Ms Shawn came to know about the Gospel and teachings of the Bible. God spoke to her as she was reading the Book, “Blessing or Curse” by Dr. Derek Prince. Initially, she didn’t accept the idea of the exclusivity of Jesus Christ but as she read the Bible the Holy Spirit convicted her heart and she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Soon she received miraculous healing from chronic sickness and saw God’s power made manifest in her life. She dedicated her life to the service of the Lord and found it a joy to be counted His disciple and child. She studied the teachings of Christ meticulously and was profoundly impacted by God’s abundant grace and His supernatural power to heal. Through her teachings on the Grace of God and Healing, several people have received miracles of Healing & Deliverance”.

How Brahmin Prasanna Hindu became Shekhinah Shawan evangelist founding Shekhinah Shawn Ministries[5]: The Shekhiashawn website continues, “After graduating from Charis Bible College[6], Chennai (Andrew Wommack Ministries[7]), she received her call to share the message of God’s abundant grace and His power to heal the sick. She has a vision to take Christian Music in India to the next level and produce quality Christian Music. Following this vision, Shekhinah Shawn Ministries is planning to start Shekhinah Shawn School of Music (SSSM) where Christian students can be trained in professional Music and taught the importance of Praise & Worship in the Body of Christ. Shekhinah Shawn is the Founder & President of Shekhinah Shawn Ministries and presently lives with her Husband Shawn who is a renowned Music Director in Chennai, India”. For preaching, it is not known, one should get any qualification from ths type of bible colleges Perhaps, they teach how to preach and convert.

Hyderabad singer complains against her Chennai opera Singer and her husband: A couple from Chennai, their 18-year old son and a church pastor have been booked by the police for sexual assault of a minor girl[1]. The police took action based on a complaint by the girl’s mother, who is reportedly a well-known playback singer from Hyderabad[2]. She had filed a police complaint in Chennai alleging that her 15-year-old daughter was sexually abused by three men, including her brother-in-law, her nephew and pastor Henry of the Alliance Church in Chennai[3]. Some other media inform that it is “Live Church.” The Tamil media started this news on 13-04-2021 slowly giving out details, as usual. Then, the whole affairs of the Church, pastor, pedophile, sexual harassment etc., have come out. As for as English media is concerned, it is PTI news[4] and therefore, faithfully reproduced without any details, as they evidently did not want to reveal about the sexual offenders also, as the Church has been involved. Later the UNI also carried the news in the same way, without giving any details[5]. However, like Indian Express, it mentioned that[6], “Pastor held for sexual assault on singer’s daughter,” pointing to Christian affair. Thus, the print and electronic media want to be more “secular,” than “communal”!

The English media went on “the singer alleging” story: In her complaint, which was filed a few days ago (on 12-04-2021) with the City Police Commissioner, the singer has alleged that the sexual abuse took place for a few years, as the girl had lived with her aunt and family for around 6 years and had returned to Hyderabad around 18 months ago[7]. The woman has said that her sister’s husband, his son and the pastor sexually abused her daughter and the crime was covered up and abetted by her sister[8]. Thus, readers cannot make out anything, except a pastor has been involved, his wife and son, thus, all have to Christians. Then, the sister who has complained against her sister is a Christian or not is not known. When FIR has been booked unde the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences)  Act, why they say she was “alleging”! Under this Act, any complaint is made, the police has to take immediate action.

FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act: According to the police complaint later filed at the All Women’s Police station in Chennai, the child lived with her aunt from when she was 6 years old till she was 13 years old. An FIR has been registered against the sister’s brother-in-law, the nephew, the pastor, as well as the singer’s sister, the police told TheNewsMinute. While the sister has been booked for abetting the crime, the others have been booked under the POCSO Act.

The FIR has been registered under –

• Section 10 of the POCSO Act (Punishment for aggravated sexual assault)
• read with Section 9 (l) (whoever commits sexual assault on the child more than once or repeatedly),
• Section 9(m) (whoever commits sexual assault on a child below twelve years) and
• Section 9 (n) (sexual assault of minor by a relative) of the POCSO Act;
• Section 17 (abetment) of the POCSO Act and Section 506(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

Further information on the complaint, harassment to the teen and legal provisions invoked against the accused men and woman is awaited[9]. “We have received a complaint and an FIR is registered and we are questioning the accused persons, a probe is on,” a police officer told PTI, adding based on the outcome of questioning, they may be arrested[10].

The Mother complainant and the daughter not co-operating for Medical check-up: According to the police, a couple of years ago, the girl had told her mother that the pastor of the church and her uncle touches her inappropriately. “At that time the mother told the child that close relatives will not do such harassment. However, the child has been living with the mother for around 18 months and this time the mother took the child’s complaint seriously and approached the police,” an investigating officer said.  Though the child was taken to a hospital for a medical check-up, the mother and the child did not agree to go ahead with the tests, the police officer said[11]. “We cannot compel the child to undergo the test and will counsel. For now, the case is that they touched her inappropriately, for adding any other sections, we will need the child to undergo a medical test,” the officer added[12].  The POCSO Act and Rules made thereunder provide the procedure to be followed.

From the Alliance Church to Alive Church or otherwise: The Alliance church, according to the police, wound up operations two years ago[13] (in 2019). “However, pastor Henry is visiting houses. He also has connections with another big organisation, we are making queries there too,” the officer said[14]. As pointed out above, the involved Church has been mentioned as “Alive TV,” and the persons have been –

1. the Pastor Henry Paul,
2. her sister Shakhinah Shawn[15] (Prasanna Raghavendar),
3. her husband Shawn Jazeel and
4.  her relative Claro,

as the names are revealed through Tamil media. There have been YouTube news and others give details that the singer used to sing Christian songs, for Chrisian albums, converted to Christianity and so on. The “Christian” involvement has been controversial over her singing career and programmes. In 2018 also, there was such controversy.

‘Yesuvin Sangama Sangeetham’ the controversy started in 2018: The Indian Express reported, “Despite threats from Hindu fundamentalist groups, ‘Yesuvin Sangama Sangeetham’, a concert envisioned by renowned Carnatic artist T Samuel Joseph (Shyaam) went on as planned in the city in August 2018[16]. Singer Kalpana Raghavendar filled in for OS Arun, who backed out following threats and criticism from fundamental groups, who alleged he was being used to spread Christianity[17]. According to Paul Wilson, Head of the Department of Chemistry in a private college near the city and his wife Jasmine Wilson, who has an MFA in Indian Music from the Tamil University in Thanjavur, these threats stem from the false notion that Carnatic music has no Christian heritage. “We were very disturbed after the controversy and decided to do some research,” said Paul, also a musician”. Many times, it has been pointed out that in Hindu religion, there is no question of “fundamentalism,” and hence existence of “the fundamentalists” to indulge in any such acts, ulike Mohammedanism and Christianity adcovte such fundamentals,which are to be followed strictlt by their respective belivers. Therefore, here, te media has been biased aginst the Hindus.

The Missionaries of Charities involved in “baby selling”: The home in eastern India’s Jharkhand state is run by Missionaries of Charity, the order set up by Mother Teresa to provide shelter for pregnant and unmarried women and their children[1]. For the services rendered by her much publicity was given and noble prize was also awarded. However, there had been allegations and accusations that she was helping pedophiles by allowing them to exploit the children in the orphanages. In fact, India has been exploited by the American and European pedophiles using “Sex tourism ” being carried on by the Missionaries, as has been exposed already by many cases that have gone up to Supreme court of India. In the present case, Indian police officer Aman Kumar said at least six babies have been sold to childless couples[2]. He said: “We are investigating to see how the operation was run and how many more children have been given away in the last few years.” The Missionaries of Charity did not respond to calls for comment. Arti Kujur, head of the Jharkhand State Child Protection Society, said the home was charging between £450 = Rs. 30,000/-  and more than £1,000 = Rs. 70,000/- for each baby, depending on what the childless couple could afford[3]. The money was reportedly paid as hospital fees.

The Nun involved has been a habitual offender caught only now: A member of the committee, Pratima Tiwari, told The Times of India that they realised a baby boy was missing during a routine inspection[4]. The Child Welfare Committee chairperson alleged that she filed a complaint after the couple – to whom the accused had given the child to – asked her to intervene, PTI reported. “The Uttar Pradesh-based family claimed that Anima Indwar, who handed over the child to them on May 14, 2018 called them up on July 1, 2018 and asked them to visit the shelter home for completing certain formalities,” Verma said. “When the child was brought to the shelter home, Indwar took the boy away.” She alleged that the accused had committed more crimes of this nature[5]. As more babies were reportedly sold, it is evident that the nun in question has been habitual offender, but, caught only now, because of the complaint and exposure. The child is currently in a government shelter for children.

Four babies were sold recently: According to the police, the two nuns allegedly sold four babies in Jharkhand as well as Uttar Pradesh[6]. This suggests that it was an inter-state child trafficking racket that the nuns were part of. The Church, school, convent, nunnery and the priests all keeping together nearby has been the root cause of all sorts of sexual related offences, crimes and violations, as being reported in the media and facts. As such crimes have been repeatedly appearing in media for the last 40 years and they have been increasing day by day, the matter should have been taken seriously. Unfortunately, in India, because of secularism, whenever, any crime is involved with the Christians and Muslims, they are treated differently. Even if they are suppressed and forgotten, the law enforcing authorities do not bother and the media, just covers up and keepm quite, as if nothing happens! Ranchi Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamanand Mandal was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “These nuns sold four babies – three in Jharkhand and one in Uttar Pradesh. Further investigation is underway.” An FIR has been registered under section 370 of the Indian Penal Code[7]. The FIR was reportedly registered by the Child Welfare Committee of Ranchi after an inspection.

After adoption, they adopted and adapted the “baby selling” as easy method: Kujur said: “We had been receiving many complaints regarding the functioning of this home and were keeping a close watch on them for nearly six months.” The Missionaries of Charity stopped organising adoptions in India in 2015 saying they disagreed with government rules that made it easier for single, divorced, and separated people to adopt children[8]. Kujur said his organisation had directed that the credentials of every home run in the state should be checked. “We hear that babies are being sold in other homes as well and are determined to put a stop to it.” After the exploitation of adoption methods and export of children to foreign countries, perhaps, the Missionaries of Charity have found put a new method to sell babies. Here, the babies of unwed mothers are taken and sold. “Unwed mothers” raise many questions, as the “Nirmal Hridhay” itself has such categories. In other words, such women cannot beget children, unless, they are impregnated and it is possible only by men. Then, who are such men allowed to mate with such women, how and why they are allowed and such other questions arise. It is a serious issue, as prostitution is also allowed in such transactions.

Sister Koncilia, a nun at Missionaries of Charity’s Nirmal Hriday home,  was arrested: Sister Koncilia, a nun at Missionaries of Charity’s Nirmal Hriday home, was arrested on 06-07-2018, Thursday for allegedly selling a child of an unwed mother[9]. Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said, “Two arrests have been made. A worker at the home was arrested on 05-07-2018, Wednesday. We have also got the details of three children who were sold by them to different couples. We are in the process of verifying their addresses.” Nirmal Hriday, at Ranchi’s Jail Road, offers shelter for unwed minor mothers and differently-abled people. The home had 11 pregnant girls and around 75 differently-abled persons living there. Sister Koncilia was the head of the unwed mothers section[10].

11 pregnant women found shifted: CWC member Tanushree Sarkar said, “We have moved the 11 girls to Karuna Shelter home and sealed that section of Nirmal Hriday. The other section does not come under our jurisdiction, but we will try to get it sealed.” The committee will be shifting around 70 children who have been given shelter in Nirmal Shishu Bhavan, another branch of the organisation situated at Hinoo, to other homes on Friday. Sarkar said, “After the incident in one branch, we cannot trust the other branches of Missionaries of Charity and we will not be sending children to them for shelter from now on.” Sarkar said of the 11 pregnant girls at the home, at least three were never produced at CWC. “As per the law, any minor child in need of care and protection should first be produced before the committee,” she said. However, why the Missionaries of Charities have not been following rules and regulations and the CWC could only now point out. Had all been faithful enough to law of the land, they must have followed. Not that only, when, something has come out, all issues should be discussed, lacunae detailed and crimes committed demonstrated.

What Christians and minorities should ponder over and do?:

1. The issues – Selling of Babies, that too, born to unwed mothers are treated differently in many countries, including India.
2. The child trafficking, women trafficking and related crimes have been so serious and it is ridiculous to note that they are covered up by the Christians and other minorities under the guise of minority status or secularism or otherwise.
3. Suppression of such crimes could only spoil their society and as well ass Indian society.
4. The babies taking birth outside wedlock, before marriage etc., only expose the vulnerability of women, nuns etc., treated in the Christian and catholic churches.
5. The recent catholic priests raping faithful ladies expose such inhuman practices.
6. Maximum, the church authorities have bee trying to cover-up, huss-up and suppress within the church sexploiting power and money.
7. The “rogue-court” type proceedings would xdestroy the faith and belief system.
8. The christians should clean their sins and they cannot create more sin chambers by sinning even the confession boxes.
9. When surrogate mothers are encouraged, this type of crimes, perhaps, appear less criminal to such mind-set and psyche.
10. All sexual relted crimes should be treated, handled and offendes should be punished without any discrimination under thelaw of this land.

Voyeurism, molestation, assault are all part of the sex crimes: action taken by the police: Inspector General (Women Safety), Swati Lakra, welcomed the Centre’s decision but urged for efficient investigation and fast-tracking of court procedures. “Like our dedicated POCSO court in Hyderabad, we will soon have courts all across the State. With all amenities and keen monitoring, better results can be achieved in districts too,” she said. Meanwhile, Sunitha Krishnan, activist and founder of Prajwala, set up for the rehabilitation of rape and trafficked victims, said that though she is not against the move of the Centre, the death penalty or any other serious action does not solve the problem. She pointed out that there has been no speedy execution of justice for years. “I have around 100 victims aged between 3-10 years whose cases have to tried under POCSO Act, but none of them have been started yet. There in no closure in terms of justice, despite the Act mandating that they have to be over within a year,” she said. Once there is speedy justice, where for example, in 10 cases, all 10 are awarded punishment, it will act as a deterrence mechanism to prevent rapes, she added. She also suggested that rapes aren’t the only crimes. Voyeurism, molestation, assault are all part of the sex crimes and it is important that there are solutions for this too. Krishnan, for a long time, has been advocating the creation of sex offenders registry and sex offenders support programme. While the former, is to name and shame offenders, list them on public domain which will alert the public while creating a fear among those committing crimes, the latter will help offenders.

690 cases of child rape in Telangana: NCRB: As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data-2016, released in December 2017, Telangana State has reported as many as 690 cases of child rape (under section 4 and 6 of POCSO Act and Section 376 IPC) and 189 cases of sexual assaults on children (under section 8 & 10 of POCSO and section 354 of IPC). Similarly, figures for overall POCSO cases from that year reveals as many as 1158 incidents involving 1159 victims. Where as, figures for total crime against children (under POCSO, IPC, and other special and local laws) reveals 2900 incidents involving 3,242 victims. However, during the same period, only 277 persons were remanded to judicial custody and 75 were convicted by court with respect to rape cases. Here, for research purposes or otherwise, except, statistical figures, the background of the crimes, involved criminals and induced factors to commit such crimes are not reported or known. Considering the pattern of “child-abuse” by the Christian Mohammedan  orphanages, homes and madrassas, there is reason to believe that they – child related sexual abuses, child-raping and pedophile crimes – are connected with religious dogmas.

Hyderabad Madrasa incident ‘highly disgraceful’: Religious scholars and rectors of various Islamic seminaries in the city have termed the incident of sexual abuse of students by a madrasa teacher as “highly disgraceful”[1]. As the Mohammedan children are affected psychologically, psycho-somatically and physically, they have now realized that if the do not prevent such pedophile and children-raping, their future would be collapsed. They said that they will soon hold a meeting to discuss ways to prevent such incidents which are degrading the levels of the Islamic institutions[2]. It is a positive sign from the Mohammedan clerics to reassess and determine what has been wrong with their “Islamic institutions,” as pointed out. Hafeez Mohd Waheed, of Islamic Madrasa Board, blames the teachers who are mostly from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for such shameful incidents. “In most of the incidents we had found the teachers from these States are involved. Most of the local institutions do not hire them. We had already sent an advisory to the institutions asking them to keep a tab on the activities in their institutions especially when there are boarders. Counselling sessions for the students are also held,” he explained. Pedophile and child-rape cases cannot be restricted to any state or area but the mindset of the people involved. As in Andhra, including Telengana, there have been hundreds of such cases reported and un-reported.

2,000 Islamic schools in Telangana State – 700 of them are located in and around Hyderabad, with 20,000 students studying: There are about 2,000 Islamic schools across Telangana State and about 700 of them are located in and around the city. About 20,000 students are studying in the institutions located in the city. Mufti Mastan Ali, who runs an Islamic seminary said that such incidents are condemnable and neither the management of the madrasa nor the accused’s family should come forward to arrange legal help for the accused person.  “Black sheeps are there in every community but the teachers hold a respectful position in the society. It is shameful to know that such incidents are occurring in the institutions,” he said. Ilyas Shamshi, a social worker and religious scholar said that the madrasas should have a parent-teacher committee like the regular schools.  “If such committees are formed at the institution level, the parents will also know the affairs in the institutions. The madrasas should also form a team of counsellors to go and meet the students especially the boarders who are from other states,” he said. Though, the “legacy issues” are being discussed, debated and contested by the divided states of Andhra and Telengana, in this issue, the moulvis coming from North-Indian states are blamed.

Muslim population has been increasing in the Telengana state[3]: The growth rate of Muslim population is increasing and the Hindu population is declining In Telangana state. In one decade, Muslims population grew from 12.4 per cent (38,53,213) of the population in Telangana in 2001 to 12.7 per cent forming a population of 44,64,699 in 2011 — an addition of 6.11 lakh. Hindu population has marginally declined from 85.94 per cent at total of 2,66,30,949 in 2001 to 85.1 per cent at a total of 2,99,48,451 during the same period. The population, however, registered an increase in absolute numbers. The population of Christians also increased marginally in the state. According to the Telangana Social Development Report- 2017, about half of the total population of Muslims in the state is residing in Hyderabad district. Of the 44.65 lakh Muslims in Telangana, 17.13 lakh live in the Hyderabad district, constituting 43.5 per cent of the total Muslim population in the state. The Christians population growth was from 1.24 per cent to 1.3 per cent, taking the numbers from 3,84,373 to 4.47,124. Christians in Telangana are largely concentrated in the two districts — Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy. In the other districts where Christians have relatively higher presence are Medak, Nalgonda and Warangal. The percentage of urban population among Hindus is 32.6 per cent whereas the corresponding figure for Muslims is 74.6 per cent. Urban ratio of Christians in Telangana has increased from 63.1 per cent in 2001 to 69 per cent in 2011. Meanwhile at the national level, Muslim population is growing slower than it had in the previous decades and its growth rate has slowed more significantly than that of the Hindu population according to the 2011 census. The Muslim population still grows at a faster rate than the Hindu population, but the gap between the two growth rates is narrowing fast. India has 966.3 million Hindus, who make up 79.8 per cent of its population, and 172.2 million Musl-ims, who make up 14.23 per cent. Among the other minorities, Christians make up 2.3 per cent of the population and Sikhs 1.72 per cent. The data on Population by Religious Communities, as in Census 2011, showed that between 2001 and 2011, the Hindu population in India grew by 16.76 per cent, while that of the Muslims grew by 24.6 per cent[4].

Why and how the Mohammedan clergy indulged in child-raping etc?: The pedophile and children raping cases have been found characteristically and mostly among the Mohammedan and Christian clergy, teachers and other religious heads. However, only few come out with the fact that their scriptures and social snobbery involve them in sexual exploitation. Their scriptures describe, promote and recommend all sorts of rape, sodomy, and various types of sexual activities, inter-courses and treatment also. The medieval literature has been imbibed and obsessed with such excessive lewd, vulgar and bawdy sexual narratives. Keeping a “beautiful boy” by side has been considered as “hallmark” of theological and poetic fantasy. LGBTQ accounts have been connected with most of the rulers, warriors and slaves also. Invariably, a slave has to be a beautiful boy, or girl or woman or any LGBTQ. While the women were shared and passed on with the “hierarchical sexual exploitation,” the “beautiful boys” were kept with jealous without passing on. Thus, the child-raping has become part of the Mohammedan sexual ecstasy books.  The poetry, paintings and harems made them sexploitive leading to many complications. A myth was also created that the more a person rapes or have sexual relation with children, the more his sexual vigour grow for complete satisfaction. The sexy, porn and such type literature produced during the medieval period of Islamic world has been proof for this. Of course, the fighters / Jihadis require sex after every assignment, just like taking food.

Secular state has to follow secular principles in containing crimes: As Islamic jurisprudence provides enough and justifies such marital exemption, exception and exploitation, the clergy had been so happy to adjudicate such cases. The more the caeses he receives, the more he rest he rquires to adjudicate futher. For quick disposal, he may have to use deputy-categories. However, in moder times, now, such sexploitations continue, then, every sane person of civil society has to analyze it caefully and find out the truth. They cannot be allowed to be in “secular stupor” or paid-trance and lay-coma forgetting the facts. As the journalist studies and institutions have been under the control of secular, Marxist, Christian, Mohammedan categories, they would be held resonsible, if they still continue to indulge in propaganda, in reporting such serious cases in this way as piinted out here and as well as in other blogs.

An Arabic teacher / moulvi / madrassa teacher aged 23/30/44 etc, arrested: A-30-year old [44 says Mumbai Mirror, 23 years old TOI says[1]] an Arabic teacher[2] / moulvi / madrassa teacher[3], who allegedly assaulted six male students sexually, aged between six and eight, is arrested by the Hyderabad Police on 03-05-2018[4]. The expression “assaulted” used is also intriguing as to how he could attack the boys sexually. Such type of male having sex with boys has been abnormal, perplexing and shocking, however, many such cases have been reported during the last 40 years. So far, such sexual exploitation has been reported from the Christian orphanages, children homes and “ashrams.” Now, they are reported from the Mohammedan Christian orphanages, children homes and madrassas. As usual, the media gives details variously, and it is not known as to how they get such figures. When the news is printed and circulated, the readers have to enjoy such differences! The other narratives have been as routine – the “arrested accused” is being produced before the court for judicial remand[5]. The victims are being shifted to for medical examination in connection with the case. The Asifnagar police said the accused, identified as Rehan, a madrassa teacher for the past few days, has been indulging in sexual exploitation of these minor boys[6]. And ironically, nowhere, pedophile is mentioned and the trend not discussed, though, the pedophile cases have gone upto Supreme Court and even judgments come out. Are the reporters have been so confused or do not know the facts or they want to confuse purposely or suppress the facts under secular or some other motive has also to be analyzed, because of such details provided to news readers.

Rehman Ansari joined in July 2017 and started raping children in Madrassa: Rehman Ansari, 23, a native of Banaka district, Bihar. In June 2017, Ansari joined a Jamia Ul Uloom Huda, an Islamic school / madrasa at Zeba Bagh in Asif Nagar as an instructor  in July last year[7] . Actually, why they are invited or allowed to come here and take classes here is not explained. The local Khajis, moulvis and Arabic teachers are not so capable or these coming from Bihar have some extracurricular expertise that could be specifically imparted to them is also intriguing.  Ansari used to stay in the room provided to him at the madrasa and teach the students. There are 25 students enrolled in the madrasa and 22 of them were currently attending the classes, Asif Nagar ACP K Ashok Chakravarthy said. Out of the 22 students, 18 are from Bihar and the rest are from Hyderabad. All the students are aged between eight and 11 years. Except for two local students, rest of the students have been staying at the madrasa and pursuing the education. The students at the madrasa hail from poor families. The madrasa charges no tuition fee and also provides free boarding and food to the students. A few students are natives of Uttar Pradesh while the others are from various districts of Telangana.

An Arabic teacher / moulvi / madrassa teacher aged 23/30/44 etc, started raping from February or Narch 2018!: The teacher Rehman Ansari, who teaches English and is also in-charge of the Jamia Uloom Ul Huda Madarsa at Zeba Baugh in Hyderabad Old City, is said to have been subjecting the boys to sexual abuse for the last two to three months[8]. Thus, the learned reporters do not know about his raping childred started in Februry or March 2018 or not. The teacher, according to the parents of the victim students, would wake one of the students in the night and sexually abuse the child after taking him to another room.  Such was the fear in the victims, that none of them dared to inform their parents about their sufferings for three months. What are the methods adopted and adapted by him to create in the minds of the children is also not mentioned or found out by the reporters. The boys reportedly revealed their condition to a local shopkeeper, who alerted the Asif Nagar police[9].

The raping incidence came to light on 1^st May, 2018, or 2^nd May or April 29^th?: The incident came to light on 02-05-2018 (Wednesday) when some of the students showed reluctance to attend the madrassa[10]. This raised suspicion among parents inquired who on inquiry found that the teacher is involved in sexual harassment of the students. The parents approached the police and lodged a complaint, based on which cases under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO were registered against the accused who is now in police custody. Speaking to ANI, Venkateshwarlu[11], Circle Inspector of Asif Nagar police station said all six children, between the age group of six to eight years, were rescued and sent for counselling. “On May 1, a father approached the police station and filed a complaint stating his minor son was sexually abused by moulvi (Teacher) in Madrasa. Immediately, we registered an FIR and took up the investigation…..We got to know that the teacher has sexually abused six minor children in Madrasa. In this Madrasa, male students study and the teacher is from Bihar and was staying in Madrasa and used to teach children,” he said[12]. Thus, the complaint was made on 01-05-2018 also. So the learned news-reporters do not know as to when the raping incidence came to light -on 1^st May, 2018, or 2^nd May or April 29^th?

The incident of sexual assault came to light on April 29, 2018 (TOI)[13]: The “Times of  India” says, “The incident of sexual assault came to light on April 29 when an eight-year-old boy went to his house and told his father about Ansari raping him at the Madrasa.  The victim’s father who is a businessman, immediately went to madrasa and confronted Ansari. When he claimed innocence, the victim’s father spoke to other boys who were residential students and two of them came forward saying that Ansari had sexually assaulted them.The victim’s father lodged a complaint with the Asif Nagar police against Ansari and a case was registered against the teacher who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education.” Police then sent the victim to Bharosa centre for counselling. The other students at the Madrasa were also counselled by professionals at the Bharosa centre and their statements were recorded. We found out that Ansari has sexually assaulted six boys during the past two months, the ACP said. Ansari assaulted most of the boys in his room at the Madrasa. A medical examination was conducted on the victims and the accused was remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday. Other instructors are conducting classes at the Madrasa and the families of the non local boys were informed about the incident[14]. Now let us note what has been going on in Hyderabad about child-raping etc.

280 POCSO Act cases have been reported from Hyderabad – 97 convicted[15]: In the last two years, as many as 280 POCSO Act cases have been reported from Hyderabad city alone[16]. These cases were reported to Bharosa Centre of Hyderabad police from May 2016 till date. As for the convictions, the special child-friendly court, established here on April 11, this year, to hear POCSO cases, has convicted two accused and sentenced them both to 3 years imprisonment. On the whole, a total of 97 convictions have been recorded in POCSO cases from Hyderabad in the last two years. On a day the Union Cabinet approved an ordinance to allow courts to award death penalty to those convicted of raping children up to 12 years of age, the landmark decision has evoked a mixed response from people from different walks of life. Some say, the certainty of punishment is what acts as deterrence and not intensity of it. Whereas, assured death penalty alone cannot prevent girls from getting raped and much more needs to be done. “Such crimes are also result of several other socio-economic factors. Often, the perpetrators come from a background of disturbed childhood. They turn psychopaths craving for revenge with no one to check on them. It does not help if you want to punish them with a death penalty. Reformation is what can help,” said Vinoy Kumar Singh, D-G of Prisons and Correctional Services. According to him, what prevents an incident of rape is certainty of punishment. “Intensity of crime will not be a deterrent,” he added.

Why Christian schools exceed the limits of education, resort to psychological methods and indulge in sexual harassments, molestations and rapes?

Why more and more Christian religious heads involve in sexual crimes?: The Christian indulgences in sexual harassments, molestations and even rapes have been increasing and become order of the day, not only throughout the world, but also in India. Every day, news is coming about the involvement of Christian cardinal, bishop, pastor, priest and so on in the violations of Acts and rules of the land. Initially, they have been adjusting and compromising within the church and hence suppressing many such incidences do not come out and get published in the media. But, later, slowly, the violations exceeded limits and such contraventions warranted legal action, adjudication and persecution. Though, the church-related crimes have been increasing, the responsible religious heads have been trying to suppress, instead of bringing discipline in the church. The Jaipur sexual harassment issue has not been drawn attention of the media, though, much hue and cry has been made out for other sexual crimes. In Tamil media, virtually, there has not been no whisper is made about the issue.

Georgish Britto surrendered or tried to ran away hiding?: A Catholic priest has been sent to a jail in Rajasthan for allegedly sending an obscene message to a teenage girl student of his school. In one of the messages, the accused wrote – ‘Your husband is always waiting for you’. Police on April 20, 2018 arrested Father Georgish Britto, vice principal of St Anselm School in Alwar[1]. A case was registered against him two days earlier for texting the 15-year-old ninth grader[2]. He was arrested when he went to “surrender” to the police, Father Edward Oliveira, vicar general of Jaipur diocese, told Matters India on April 23, 2018. The school is managed by the diocese of Jaipur. Alwar is some 160 km northeast of Jaipur, the state capital and the diocesan headquarters. According to other reports, the accused vice principal fled to Dausa in a bus after he came to know about the police case[3]. He called up his friend in Alwar from Dausa. The police traced the call and a team was immediately rushed to Dausa and arrested from Lalsot Road[4]. He was brought to Alwar where he is being interrogated. Sources said that the man was “planning to flee” to his native village via Jaipur. So the catholic priest wanted to “surrender” to the police or “planning to flee” to his native village has to be decided by the God!

Why Georgish Britto was sending obscene messages and videos?: On Wednesday [18-04-2018], there was a huge drama at the school when the girl’s parents accompanied by members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal protested against the school’s vice principal. Following this, senior police officials arrived at the school to pacify the protesters[5]. The girl’s family alleged that not only was the vice principal sending their daughter obscene messages and videos from the past few days, but was also forcing her to change her religion[6]. Local political leaders including MLA Banwari Lal Singhal also arrived at the school to take stock of the situation[7]. The protesting group alleged that the vice principal was hiding somewhere in the school and police is deliberately not arresting him[8]. Paul, the principal of the school, however, said that he was unaware about the vice principal’s activities. After the high-octane drama, IPS Anil Beniwal reached the spot and asked the girl’s father to report the matter. “The vice principal has been booked under the POSCO Act and search is on to find him,” Beniwal said. The girl had not complained about the obscene messages earlier, obviously afraid of the school authorities.

Georgish Britto – can he capable of giving counselling to the girl?: According to the Times of India, the administration called in additional forces to keep the situation under control. While the protestors argued with the cops; the parents accused the school of shielding their teacher. Father Oliveira said the girl’s brother beat Father Britto on April 20, 2018. The vicar general said Father Britto, who was ordained hardly a year ago, had counseled the girl’s family to sort out some domestic problems. How can he indulge in such activities of counselling the girl is intriguing. The girl’s elder brother had also studied in the same school. The girl apparently developed some “infatuation” toward the young priest and used her father’s mobile to message him at night after her father went to sleep, the vicar general explained. This type of counter accusation by the Church and clergy expose their ugliest side of sexual harassment that has been going on in many Christian schools. However, the father caught the girl chatting with the priest and complained to the police. So the fact has been more clear than the Christian attempts of suppressimg the facts, in spite of their position, status etc.

In one of the messages, the accused wrote – ‘Your husband is always waiting for you’: This cleararly exposed his non-educative, non-catholic and indiscipline attitude and sexual mindset of the priest. Ironically, this has been the characteristic of the Christian church and clergy in India and the world also. Father Britto was arrested under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act of 2012, a stringent law to end abuses of minors[9]. Father Oliveira said the groups had accused the vice principal of trying to convert the girl and fondling her, besides sending lewd messages[10]. The vicar general said the junior priest had admitted that he only sent the message to the girl but denied other charges. “He admitted what he had done was imprudent and wrong. What has happened is very sad,” he added. The school authorities reportedly claimed that the student had never complained about such messages. But, the school authorities have not been so naïve to leave the girl, particularly, when she complained to the police. Father Oliveira said the accused priest had to remain in jail until May 5, 2018. “We can move for bail only after that,” he added.

The arrogant attitude of the Church: Here, also, evidently, the national media though silent, the few covered the incidence tried to dub the excessive reaction of the so-called “right-wing” groups. Ironically, the letter of Oswald J. Lewis dated 24-04-2018 addressed to “Clergy, Religious & Laity, and Catholic Diocese of Jaipur” has been intriguing and shocking.  “In times of trial, uncertainties, and hardships we have only one source of consolation – Jesus the Good Shepherd. We turn to him in prayer. I hereby request you to fast and pray that we may tide over this situation and that Fr. Georgish Britto may have the strength and courage to bear the cross that the Lord has given him. Do pray for Paul Pulikal too that he be guided and strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Thanking you for your understanding of the situation sympathetically and praying for us.” This clearly proves that the Christian heads have not regretted, apologized and repented for the sinful crimes and criminal sins committed, but with theological arrogance, tried to justify such heinous sexual crimes, coolly forgetting the affected girls and women of India.

In secular state, crimes cannot be justified with theology: Crime is a crime and it has to be dealt with according to the law of the land, but, when it is justified, vindicated and defended based on religion, theology and other illegal means, then, there is a reason to believe that the offenders, wrongdoers and criminals are protected. Then, as a pattern is noted in such perpetrated crimes for the last 50 years, it is nothing but organized crime carried on under the guise of religion by a particular group or believers. When the country is secular, the criminals cannot be treated differently, just because, he is a Christian and his theology helps him to escape from crimes committed. But, the Bishop’s letter quoted above clearly proves that the Christians have such extraneous mysticism, illegal spirituality and illegitimate holiness means to cover up crimes of all sorts by divine theology. This is very dangerous in a secular state, democratic polity and civil society and therefore, every citizen of India has right to expose such heinous ideology, atrocious philosophy and dreadful dogma paraded as acceptable religion and bring the criminals to court for prosecution and punishment.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan has let down women again by surrendering to the fundamentalists!

Girls can be excanged for debts, debt recovery and other proceedings: Islamic Republic of Pakistan (hereinafter mentioned as IRP) has been notorious for pedophile activities carried on in Madrasas by Mohammedan clerics. Though, many reports came, arrests made, but, prosecutions have been limited and the involved maulanas, kajis and Mullahs escaped. While the boys are exploited in this way, the girl-children are sexploited in a different way, under the guise of “marriages”. Child marriage in Pakistan is connected with tradition, culture, and customary practices. It sometimes involves the transfer of money, settlement of debts or exchange of daughters (Vani/Swara or Watta Satta) sanctioned by  a Jirga or Panchayat (council of elders from the community)[1]. It is estimated that 21% of girls in Pakistan are married before the age of 18. When the question of “non-Muslims” come, the “marriages” become atrocious, horrible and ending with prostitution, as Islamic law can be applicable for such activities under mutah and other forms of marriages. Thus, by and large the Islamic law has been used only to sexploit the girls and women.

IRP obligation to end child marriage and legislations stopped by the clerics: As awareness is created and educated women have started questioning such practices, IRP has pledged to end child marriage by 2030 as part of a global initiative. Based on this, IRP gets many funds and monetary packages from the global organizations. Yet, the legislations brought to curtail, ban and stop the Child marriages and pedophile activities have been stopped by the Mohammedan clerics under the pretext of Quran, Hadis and Shariat. In other words, the funds received for the purpose have not been producing desired effect, instead, opposite results show the other-way happenings there. According to a Gallup survey released in October 2017, approximately 7.3 million people in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were married before the age of 16, and an additional 15.5 million Pakistanis got married before they were 18. Gallup calls this “child marriage” for its survey purposes[2]. The observation made, “Child brides often drop out of school and become pregnant, and these early pregnancies have a greater risk of ending in maternal or infant death,……….Child brides are also at greater risk of sexual violence, abuse, social isolation and exploitation.” said Gallup[3].

The bills were stalled in 2014, 2016 and so on: A bid to ban child marriage in Pakistan utterly failed, after the Council of Islamic Ideology declared the legislation “anti-Islamic” and “blasphemous.”  The bill didn’t even move past the first stage in the legislative process, The Express Tribune reports[4]. It was almost immediately pulled by Pakistan Muslim League party’s Marvi Menon following condemnation from CII, whose job it is to advise the legislature on whether bills are compliant with Sharia law. In this case, the bill clearly violated Islamic law as tradition holds marriage as acceptable when a girl hits puberty[5]. Sheerani had opposed the proposed amendments, saying they were contrary to Islamic teachings and laws. “Parliament cannot create legislation that is against the teachings of the Holy Quran or Sunnah,” he had said while backing his arguments with relevant laws and a few references from the Holy Quran and Hadith. According to Islamic laws, marriage can be solemnised when a girl attains puberty, Sheerani claimed[6]. After CII’s declaration, a parliamentary committee rejected the legislation solely for religious reasons and Menon subsequently pulled the legislation. Existing legislation in Pakistan already violates Islamic law. The Child Marriage Restraint (Amendment) Act 2014 places the legal age of marriage at 16 for women, but the recent proposal attempted to move that age up to 18 and also included serious punishment for the common practice of child marriage. That punishment would have included prison for up to two years for anyone caught engaging in child marriage[7].

In May 2017 also, the National Assembly rejected the draft Child Marriage Restraint Act for the second time: Social and gender inequality, a desire to control women’s sexuality and protect family honour, economic hardship and lack of awareness of the harmful impact of child marriage are common driving factors[8]. Pakistan’s Child Marriage Restraint Act (CMRA) 1929 sets the legal age for marriage to 16 for women and 18 for men. In May 2017, the National Assembly rejected the draft Child Marriage Restraint Act for the second time. The proposal would have increased the legal age for marriage from 16 to 18 nationwide. In February 2017, the Parliament adopted an amendment to the Penal Code that would toughen punishment against child marriage. Offenders face a minimum of five years in prison and may serve up to 10 years. They also face a fine of up to 1 million rupees ($9,547). Thus, it appears that IRP and the fundamentalist have been playing trick with the UN and global organizations strategically, as if the have been introducing the Bills, but, only the fundamentalist clerics have been stopping it in the name of Allah and Quaran, that is not questionable by any Muslim.

Mohammedan clerics declare that girls can get married by 9 years or getting puberty, whichever is earlier: According to the organization Girls Not Brides, over 21 percent of the girls in Pakistan enter into marriage before the age of 18. CII Chairman Mohammad Khan Sheerani reiterated in 2014 that girls can be married at age nine, so long as puberty is apparent, adding that attempts to revisit the issue are pointless and unnecessary. “Parliament cannot create legislation that is against the teachings of the Holy Quran or Sunnah,” Sheerani said in 2014, according to The Express Tribune. CII was created in 1962 with the express purpose of advising parliament on Islamic law. CII is also known for calling to make DNA evidence inadmissible in rape cases as recently as 2013. What CII wanted instead is to bring back the old practice of bringing in four witnesses to support rape claims. With increasing immigration, the practice of child marriage has also spread to the West, raising alarm especially in the United Kingdom. According to data from the Home Office’s Forced Marriage Unit, there were 1,485 cases of child marriage in 2012. Another government report also foundchild marriage is increasing around the world, with the rate expected to climb to 14 million child marriages a year before 2020 hits.

Law Minister Zahid Hamid  accused of for “blasphemy” and fatwas issued: Law Minister Zahid Hamid had been accused by clerics of committing blasphemy due to a change in the wording of an oath taken by parliamentarians in the South Asian country. The protesters, led by Rizvi and other scholars, perceived the change in wording as representing a softening of the state’s position against members of the Ahmadi sect, who are not permitted to identify themselves as Muslims in Pakistan. The oath was hastily amended back to its original wording, but protesters held the capital under siege for weeks, demanding that Hamid resign from the cabinet. According to the agreement signed on Monday, the government will also make public an internal inquiry into how the wording of the parliamentary oath was changed. The Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) political party, led by Rizvi, has also agreed not to issue any religious edicts [fatwas] against Hamid.  Blasphemy is a sensitive issue in Pakistan, and certain forms of it can carry the death sentence. Increasingly, those accused of blasphemy have also been subjected to violent attacks by mobs and charged protesters. Since 1990, at least 73 people have been killed over alleged blasphemy, according to an Al Jazeera tally. They include those accused of blasphemy, members of their families, lawyers who have defended them and judges.

Zahid Hamid, Law Minister resigned[9]: Pakistan’s federal law minister has resigned, acceding to a key demand made by thousands of protesters who have blocked a major highway into the Pakistani capital for weeks, the state radio broadcaster reported. An agreement has been signed that would see the demonstrators in Islamabad and other cities disperse, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal told the Islamabad High Court during a hearing on 17-11-2017, Monday, ending a weeks-long standoff that threatened to escalate into countrywide violence. “On the assurance of the Chief of Army Staff, we are calling off the sit-in,” Muslim scholar and protest leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi told a crowd of around 2,500 demonstrators in Islamabad on Monday, AFP news agency reported. The agreement would also see all protesters who were arrested during the sit-in, which began on November 8, be released within three days[10]. The government will also take responsibility for paying for any damage caused to both public and private property during the protest. An inquiry will also be ordered into a government security crackdown on Saturday which saw thousands of riot police fire tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon in an attempt to disperse the protesters. Demonstrators fought back with stones, sticks and metal rods, and were able to beat back the authorities. At least five people were killed and more than 217 – mostly members of the security forces – wounded in those clashes.
