Nathuram Godse and Karunanidhi

VEDAPRAKASH

Godse and Dravidian leaders: Very often the DK-protagonists[1], Communist and the like just blurt out that that RSS killed Gandhi[2]. We do not know why they remember very often or like Godse (1910-1949) like this.  Now, Karunananidhi cries that “the killers of Gandhi should not come to power” right inside the TN Legislative Assembly. “The sinners of Gandhi-killers should not come to power again. Again one Ayodhya, one Rama Ratha, journey of Advani and such things happen, the country would become a jungle[3]. “Another Ayodhya or Rathyatra by BJP’s L.K. Advani would turn the nation into a grave,” he said. UPA allies should ensure that the “followers of killers of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, should not rule the land,” he told the Tamil Nadu assembly[4]. This way he responds to the Communists and others who raised the issue of price rise! Why this crack-pot again and again target Rama?

DMK and BJP: We have to deal with all the points raised by the CM in the Assembly, as every citizen has a right to discuss about what C. M talks officially in the assembly. How he was hobnobbing with the Gandhi-killers for five years (1996-2001) without shame, disgrace or mortification? At that time what he was doing? Even T. R. Balu was hobnobbing with BJP-RSS volunteers for his Central Madras Constituency election.

His anti-BJP tirade could not have been made right inside the Assembly, as it is not Panagal Park or Mayilai Mangollai to talk in Tamil anything he likes.

When Murasoli Maran was proposed as Minister, nationalists raised questions, as he had been anti-nationalist and proven ideologist of Tamil separatist movement[5]. Was was writing in “Murasoli”, the DMLK mouth-piece arguing for “Dravidasthan”. He also recorded in his introduction that Karinanidhi encouraged him to write and accommodated in the paper. However, he assured BJP leaders that hereafter, he would not talk anything against nation, as he would become a “Central Minister”!

The same thing happened with PMK and MDMK. The PMK again surrendered and agreed to bury all its ideologies of separatism, self-determination and LTTE support. In fact, it had carefully withdrawn all its anti-Indian books, booklets and propaganda literature.

As for as MDMK was concerned, Vaiko never minced his words for his sympathy and ideological support to and for LTTE or trans-territorial Tamil movement[6]. So he decided to keep outside the ministry and support.

Dravidian leaders sand Mahathma Gandhi: The Dravidian leaders of all sorts had / have been totally against Mahathma Gandhi. They had scant regard for him and talked and wrote disrespecting him in their propagandist literature and papers[7]. EVR, Annadurai and Karunanidhi have been very much against Mahathma Gandhi and they always used to talk in a very scurrilous, derogatory and debasing manner with sarcasm and ridicule. The way in which they talk in Tamil could be understood the real inner meaning only by the Tamil-knowing people. Just remember how Karunanidhi asked about Rama with his arrogant sarcasm, malicious derision and blasphemous mock with his body language. Thousand times more derogatory attitude would be there when they talked during 1940s. They used to address him as “Gandhiyar”, “Parppana adigoli”, “Varnashrama vithagar” and such words and expressions in a scornful way.

Karunanidhi’s official involvements in murders and assassination, acquitted later: People generally forget the recent past. In how many murders and assassination, Karunanidhi was officially involved?

•     In fact, people, particularly, the non-Tanilnadu citizens know very well that he was one of the accused in the Indira Gandhi attempted murder along with 6 others in 1969. Indira Gandhi gave relief to him by withdrawing the case.

•     He has been also under the suspicion of assassination Rajiv Gandhi, as he was / is having links with LTTE. Even when Priyanka met Nalini one of the offenders and undergoing punishment in Vellore jail, she was asking as to any political parties were involved in the assassination plot of his father?

•     He was also involved in the cold-blooded murder of the Tiruchendur temple priest and people might have forgotten the Justice Paul Commission Report. The report itself was made disappeared ad the Judge made kept quite.

Karunanidhi and Commissions: Karunanidhi has always been a man of two faces, many tongues. He keeps harping publicly that he is willing to face any inquiry against him. But when an inquiry commission is instituted, he always runs away from it. He tried to run away from the Justice Sarkaria Commission constituted to inquire into corruption charges against him. Another example is the case where the Justice Paul Commission Report was stolen. A case was registered and in this connection in the Madras High Court his attitude of non-cooperation was heard by Justice Singaravelu. Karunanidhi, the fourth accused in the case, refused to cooperate. In fact, the learned Judge observed that “Even if the 4th accused is brought to Court through some coercive steps, it would be futile and the proposed remedy would only aggravate the malady…

How sins are different? But, now right inside the TN Assembly, he talks about the so-called killers of Gandhi. Nathuram Godse was already hanged for killing the Gandhi. But can he absolve from the above sins? Though, with his power and manipulations, he has covered up, how the facts could be erased from the minds of TN people or Indians?

Karunanidhi and Terrorism[8]: In 1976, Gandhi’s federal government dismissed Karunanidhi’s government on the charges of  corruption. A year later, MGR won local elections and sent Karunanidhi into political wilderness until MGR’s death in 1987.

After a year of direct rule by the federal government, the DMK party regained power in Tamil Nadu in 1989. Two years later the federal government dismissed Karunanidhi for a second time, accusing him of not doing enough to crack down on the Tamil Tigers in his state.

Further, the Jain Commission said, the LTTE was getting its supplies, including arms, ammunition, explosives, fuel and other essential items from Tamil Nadu to continue its fight against the IPKF that too with the support of the DMK Government, State Administration and connivance of the law enforcement agencies.

The report said that soon after the DMK Government took over the reins of power in Tamil Nadu, “the LTTE slowly began to consolidate itself in the State and their clandestine activities, heretofore dormant, became more and more pronounced. All the activities of the LTTE at this stage towards resource mobilisation, propaganda and treatment of their wounded cadres, had taken an anti-national dimension.”

The Commission noted the visit of the then DMK MP, Mr. V. Gopalaswamy, MP (DMK) to Northern Sri Lanka and his reported meeting with Prabhakaran between February 8, 1989, and March 3, 1989.

“This visit by Mr. V. Gopalaswamy, and the manner in which this entire episode was dealt with by the DMK party sent clear signals to the pro-LTTE anti-IPKF elements in the State as well as LTTE itself that the newly-elected Government would not resort to any drastic action against such elements; on the other hand, the impression that the entire episode created was that pro-LTTE gestures, even if they were illegal, would be tolerated by the Government.”

The Commission’s report said the then Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, was keen that “some satisfactory solution be arrived at with the LTTE so that the Indo-Sri Lankan Accord could be implemented in letter and spirit. He discussed this concern with Mr. Karunanidhi and sought his assistance.” After Mr. V. P. Singh became the Prime Minister on December 2, 1989, it was spelt out that if no solution came, India would no longer give any military or monetary help to any of the groups, nor allow its mainland to be used for militant activities. “The LTTE remained adamant during their parleys with Mr. Karunanidhi, and continued to demand the formation of Eelam,” the report noted.

The interim report said that credible reports existed of “active connivance of some DMK leaders with the LTTE. The LTTE was in continuous interaction with Mr. Karunanidhi, primarily to ensure that their activities continue unhindered even after the Padmanabha killing.” The ATR “noted” the observation of the Commission that there was a nexus between the LTTE and the ULFA and their combined endeavours in Tamil Nadu had also been confirmed.

The Commission’s report ponders over questions of aid to the LTTE in the killing of Rajiv Gandhi. “Were there other forces behind the LTTE involved in the conspiracy for the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi? These are questions requiring a deep and anxious probe,” the report said referring to conspiratorial aspects which were yet to be dealt with by the one-man probe panel.

Soon after the DMK Government took over the reins of power in Tamil Nadu, the LTTE slowly began to consolidate itself in the State. During 1990, a growing nexus between the LTTE and DMK and its repercussions on the local law enforcement machinery were discernible. The assassination of EPRLF leader K. Padmanabha and others at Madras on 19th June 1990 was a shocking reminder of the impunity with which the LTTE could operate in India.

The case assumes significance due to the fact that striking similarities were found in the Padmanabha assassination and the case relating to the assassination of Shri Rajiv Gandhi. It can, therefore, be safely concluded that the growing connivance of the DMK Government with the LTTE having been brought to the knowledge of the National Front Government, effective steps were not taken by the Central government to check it, whatever may be the reasons.

From the evaluation of the material, the conclusion is irresistible that there was tacit support to the LTTE by Shri M. Karunanidhi and his Government and law enforcement agencies.

The charges, put together as long quotations from the report, include: that the DMK provided a safe sanctuary for the LTTE cadres and activists, it gave advice, active assistance, finance and security cover to LTTE operations, and that the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi would not have been possible the way it happened without the nexus between the LTTE and the DMK, a nexus which started a chain of events which led to the survival and growth of the LTTE in Tamil Nadu long after the Government of India’s attitude had changed towards the LTTE and hostilities had broken out between the Indian Peace Keeping Force and the LTTE in Sri Lanka, and finally that the DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, had “himself been instrumental in ensuring that things went smoothly for LTTE” and that the cadres of the LTTE had little fear of the security agencies in India “thanks to the patronage of the DMK Government”.

Mahathma Gandhi and Karunanidhi: Karunanidhi’s Tamil usage would very caustic, sarcastic and hurting with double-meaning. That too when he talks with vengeance, hatred and attacking mood, his Tamil would be very very sharp and killing. He has been capable of converting a good word into a bad or even vulgar word in Tamil connotation. He never cared for Gandhi or respected Gandhi. He even does not want to call his name “Mahathma Gandhi” and changed his name as “Uttamar Gandhi” when the name of Nungambakkam Road was changed to Mahathma Gandhi Road , he ordered that it should be ” Uttamar Gandhi Road “. Such has been his love, respect and what not for “the Father of Nation”, but now he talks about the killers of Gandhi!

Dr. Subramanian Swamy[9], President of the Janata Party has said: ?It is abominable for Priyaranjan Das Munshi to compare Karunanidhi with the Father of Our Nation. Karunanidhi is the anti-thesis?in letter and spirit?of Mahatma Gandhi. Karunanidhi was a primary accused in the murder case relating to the beastly attack on Smt. Indira Gandhi during her visit to Madurai in 1979. Moreover following the indictment by the Jain Commission, the Multi-disciplinary Investigation Team and the CBI initially viewed Karunanidhi as a prime suspect in the murder of Rajiv Gandhi?.

Killing of many Tamil leaders and the nexus: The LTTE assassinators have been the DK-sympathisers, they have been maintaining close relations with the DK-DMK-PMK-MDMK and other anti-Indian political parties (all TNLA, TNMK, and such other splinter groups). So we can always say like Karunanidhi, the killers of so-many Tamil leaders have been the DK-DMK-PMK-MDMK and other anti-Indian political parties. In fact, Tamils themselves know very well how the liberal, democratic and reasonable Tamil leaders were hunted and killed mercilessly.

Karunanidhi – the Aurangazeb in action, demolishes a temple mantap

via VEDAPRAKASH published on July 28, 2008
Note: As I have already mentioned, many of my articles disappeared when http://www.indianinteracts.com website disappeared or closed down. This has been one of them.
Karunanidhi - acted as Aurangazeb.mantap demolished

Karunanidhi ordered for demolition: It is not at all surprising that Karunanidhi, the hidden Aurangazeb has been in action acting against Hindus in his present reign[1]. Under the guise of renovation, a temple mantap was demolished in Kancipuram. What is surprising is that it is not all reported in the media, though it started in April 2008. When a 1000-pillared mantap was demolished at the Tirumala, at least some people objected to it, though the historians, archaeologists and other monument experts, saviours and protectors were sleeping. Now also, the same thing has happened, but for Dr. R. Nagaswamy[2].

Karunanidhi - acted as Aurangazeb

500 years old monument demolished: The mantap with carved sculptures braved the vagaries of nature for 500 years, but now, human hands are bringing down the massive mandapa situated in the famed Varadaraja Perumal temple at Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu[3]. Built by the Vijayanagar king Achyuthadevaraya around A.D. 1530, it was known for its few hundred pillars covered with beautiful carvings of dancers, musicians, floral motifs and gods. All these are now smashed to pieces with crowbars. The demolition, which began in April, has picked up pace with a bulldozer being pressed into action.

Karunanidhi - the sound of chisel

“Uliyin Osai” in reverse – Sastriyar[4] behaves differently: The Kalainjar was planning for “Uliyin osai”, the sound of chisel – carving sculptures out of stone, but, in action, he ordered to demolish such sculptures. Note, how iconoclasm works against iconogenesis! Hussian painted Hindu Goddesses and Gods in the name of expressing artistic talent of expression, but he actually tried to demolish and blaspheme Hindu Goddesses and Gods with the perverted psyche. The Mohammedan demolition frenzy acted psychologically, as in the cases of Khiljis, Malik kafur, Aurangazeb, Tipu sultan etc. Karunanidhi, the moder-day manipulators does it in his 83 years age.

Karunanidhi - the sound of chisel-music release

Rennovation or demolition? Temple officials said it was “not a demolition but dismantling of the mandapa” to assemble it again to house vahanas (vehicles) of the deities. “A donor” was apparently financing “the project” to “dismantle and re-assemble” the mandapa so that the “vahanas can be displayed openly”. The temple comes under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the Tamil Nadu government. However, no details are known to the public. In fact, the Christian Rajasekhara Reddy also gave similar apologia for his renovation carried on in front of the Tirumala temple.

Karunanidhi - acted as Aurangazeb-breaks.jpg

Dr. R. Nagaswamy says it is total destruction: However, Dr. R. Nagaswamy, former Director of the Tamil Nadu Archaeology Department, called it “a thoughtless act of destruction and renovation“. The mandapa could have been cleaned easily, conserved and preserved. “What is happening now is total destruction. They are not dismantling it. They are smashing it with a bulldozer,” he said. The temple was earlier subjected to a bout of vandalism when the murals of Vishnu, Lakshmi and other gods in the Hindu pantheon were whitewashed. The surviving paintings have faded or peeled away. They have not been preserved. Thus, the atheist government may be working in a phased manner, but these devils are posing as savious of Tamil culture and so on! Better, the Tamil lovers, Tamil protagonists and others at least now recognize the iconoclasts and act so that whatever left could be protected.

Demolition carried with the instance of DMK government: These demolitions are done at the instance of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government in the State[5]. Many times, our Dravidian and Tamil friends used to accuse or even shout at me for always attacking “Karunanidhi”. But, note my dear friends, what has been happening. As now our Maharaja or Chakravarti has been Karunanidhi, as a citizen, I could blame only my ruler. I cannot complain to the ruler of Pakistan or Afganisthan! Therefore, they should not pretend hinding the truth or the heinous crimes of the ruler of Tamilnadu, misusing his status.

The origin of the Mantap and temple: The origin of the Varadaraja Perumal temple at Kancheepuram goes back to about 1,200 years. Nagaswamy, who is also a scholar in Sanskrit, calls it “the most beautiful Vishnu temple at Kancheepuram”. The temple originally consisted of an image of Narasimha at the foot of a small rocky boulder. Later, a standing form of Vishnu was installed on top of the rock. It was then called Arulalar temple. The village was called Athiyur because there were a number of “athi” trees around. The temple began to gain prominence in the 11th century, during the period of the Cholas. Kulotunga Chola encased the rock and built a structural temple around the standing Vishnu circa A.D. 1100. The temple expanded with the construction of several shrines, prakaras (corridors) and gopurams. Vijayanagar emperor Krishnadevaraya built the present sanctum sanctorum, the vimana above it and covered it with gold sheet around A.D. 1525, said Nagaswamy. He also rebuilt the sanctum of Thayaar (Vishnu’s consort) and the vimana, and covered this vimana also with gold. Krishnadevaraya’s successor Achyuthadevaraya built the kalyana mandapa on the left side beyond the western entrance to the temple. This mandapa is known for its several hundred pillars with intricate carvings of horse-riders, dancers, musicians, and gods and goddesses.

Act and Rules violated – the principles of archaeology forgotten: On the right side, “as if to strike a balance”, he built another mandapa with a few hundred pillars, all hewn out of granite. This was used for conducting temple festivals in the past. Later, it was used as a goshala, or cow shed. It is this mandapa that is being pulled down now. It originally encased a central mandapa with carved pillars. This has already been demolished. Broken pillar-members, some of them numbered, lie in a heap. “The entire mandapa is in good condition…. The walls are in perfect alignment. It has survived for 500 years without tilting or developing cracks. Except that it has not been cleaned, it is in good shape,” said Nagaswamy, adding that it could have been easily preserved without demolishing it. No technical report on the mandapa’s condition was prepared before the demolition began. Although some of the pillars that have been pulled down are numbered, it would be impossible to reassemble the mandapa because they are lying in a heap in different places and in broken pieces, he said. Temple officials claimed they would rebuild the mandapa with original pillars as a gallery to house the temple’s vahanas. They claimed they were using the bulldozer only to remove the lime mortar on the ceiling of the mandapa. They would replace the ancient lime mortar with cement mortar. However, the use of cement mortar would be a blatant violation of the canons of conservation, asserted archaeologists[6]. These are the photos of demolition squad in action[7].

Why historians, archaeologists and others are keeping quite? The proverbial, phenomenal or tactful silence maintained by the present-day historians, archaeologists of all categories, secular, progressive, eminent, elite and what not – is understandable. As they expect benefits from the Maharaja Karunanidhi, they do not ask whatever he does. In fact, with sycophancy, they may prise for his sound or nise of chisel that has demolished the monument! As the conferences of TNHC, IHC, APHC, SIHC etc., are coming in the order, let us see whether these people have any guts or sense f their profession to pass any resolution etc., or the K. Veeramanies, Ramasamies and other oldmen would be invited to talk nonsense.

EVR’s Hindutwa or Hindutwa of Periyar: RSS’s comparison of ideologies of Periyar and Hindutwa!

EVR’s Hindutwa or Hindutwa of Periyar: RSS’s comparison of ideologies of Periyar and Hindutwa!

RSS periyar, DC 17-05-2018
Much in common between Periyar’s Dravidian principles and the RSS ideology[1]: RSS joint general secretary Dr Manmohan Vaidya on 17-05-2018, Thursday expressed confidence that the Sangh would able to strengthen its base in Tamil Nadu, explaining that there is much in common between Periyar’s Dravidian principles and the RSS ideology, as both advocate equality in society without caste and communal differences and class distinctions. “Periyar had campaigned for a society where everyone, particularly the poor and the backward castes, have equal rights and could live in dignity. He had worked tirelessly towards creating a casteless society. RSS too advocates and practises the same ideology”, Dr Vaidya said at a select media interaction here. He admitted that the RSS work in Tamil Nadu could be a bit more divisions created by vested interests”. However, the Sangh would emerge successful in winning the Tamil hearts as the “great unifying factor is spirituality, that’s just the way of Indian living over centuries, marked by kindness, sharing, mutual respect and tolerance, and such other virtues”, Dr Vaidya said[2].

RSS periyar, DC cutting, 17-05-2018
Muslims and Christians in RSS[3]: Elaborating on the RSS ideology, he said the Sangh has several Muslim and Christian members attending the shakhas, which number over 57,000 spread across the country. There is neither religious preaching nor any political discourse at the RSS meetings and shakhas. “We have Dr C I Issac, a renowned history professor, as an important member in Kerala. He has written several well-researched articles on being Hindu”, he said. “A Dravidian leader, who presided over a RSS conference in Tamil Nadu a couple of years ago, had said in his speech that he had actually come to close down the shakhas because he was under the impression that extreme Hinduism was being preached there, but after seeing that the shakhas practiced no class/caste/religious distinctions, he was going back happy that his mind has changed and he now knew the truth about RSS”, Dr Vaidya said. Dr Vaidya is here to be part of the faculty at the RSS summer camp, being attended by over 300 members from all the southern states. There are 80 such camps happening across the country. “There are lectures on spiritualism, clean living, social issues and ways of bringing about positive change among the people, apart from physical training”, explained the RSS leader[4].

Jaya, Maya, Mamta

Mayawati and Jayalalita: Evidently, either he does know the “Dravidian ideology” or the TN BJP or Hindutwa ideologists have not briefed him properly about the Dravidian ideology and polity. It is definitely incorrect to compare or equate Periarist ideology with that of RSS ideology, as both would not match with each other on many accounts. Incidentally, BJP suffered heavily because of two Lady-politicians Mayawati and Jayalalita. During 1995, Mayawati and BJP experimented coalition rule in UP, but failed, because of the inherent fissures. Though, Periyar was an anti-Hindutwa voice, the Dravidian parties DMK, AIADMK, MDMK were trying to align and aligned with BJP for political compulsion, exploitation and profiteering. The BJP could not forget about the fall because of one vote and it was approaching cautiously with Jayalalita. Now, AIADMK has been with BJP and hence, BJP tries to get benefit out of political confusion prevailing in Tamilnadu, after the demise of Jayalalita.

Hindutwa Periyar book- propsed

“Periyar’s Hindutwa” as perceived in 2004: Ravikumar asked, “In such a context, intellectuals who write about Tamil society and polity in the English-language media continue to posit Periyar as an important anti-Hindutva voice. If that were to be true, how/ and why is it that we see Dravidian parties like the DMK, AIADMK and MDMK vying with each other to be seen in the company of BJP? Also, why is it that these Dravidian formations brazenly attempt to implement an agenda over which even states ruled by the BJP would hesitate?,” and then, went on to reply. In the context of “Paraiyar / SC / now mentioned as Dalits”, he pointed out[5], “Periyar was someone who was jealous of the constitutional safeguards that were given to the dalits. Having repeatedly spoken of dalits as a people who don’t have a history, who don’t have a political movement, who don’t have leaders, Periyar even made them believe this. Having used the dalits to serve his political ends, he asked them: ‘Asking the government for jobs, education, duties, huts and housing; and seeking from the Mirasdars two extra measures of paddy will not help in anyway…….Of what use are you to us?”. Periyar worked solely for the cause of the non-brahmin, non-religious minority, non-dalit backward and upper castes. He deployed the concept of ‘majority’ for this purpose. There’s only one difference between the majoritarianism that the hindutvawadis propound and that of Periyar’s: that is, over the exclusion of brahmins from this majority[6]. Then, he concluded[7], “Dravidian parties allying with the BJP even as they praise Periyar is no different from Mayawati’s praise for Periyar even as she rules in alliance with the BJP. There’s always a scope in Periyar’s ideas for such possibilities. This is Periyarism”.  Perhaps, “Hindutwa” expression used in 2004 shows the change taken place[8].

lord-sri-rama-1971-dk-chappal-garlanded

“Karnataka” would be repeated in Tamilnadu?: Whatever the nuances are appreciated, filtering out the differences, the anti-Hindu, anti-Sanskrit, anti-Brahmin, anti-dalit, pro-mohammedan, and above all anti-Indian ideology of EVR changed to Periyar could not be coped up with the RSS idelogists. In fact, the hard-core Periyarist, anti-Hindu Dravidian cadre and pro-Tamil ideologists would not accept such proposition, on any account. Therefore, the Hindutwavadis / RSS / BJPwalas should understand the Dravidian mindset. How Jayalalita was treated by them till death and even after hould bge an eye-opener, just because, she is a Brahmin, Pappathi, Aryan and so on. The Hindutava ideologists could get along with AIADMK but not with DMK and therefore, thinking about “Periarists” is redundant, futile and worthless. Though, BJP did not pose as “anti-dalit,” its inaffective campaign in Karnataka produced negative impact, where SC and ST constitute 19%. Even Hindutwa failed with Lingayats and Vokkaligas, as Congress played the “communal card” effectively, spending crores.  In Tamilnadu, the higher caste Mudaliyars, Chettiyar, Pillais and others vote for DMK traditionally, because of their affiliations since 1960s.  Muslims and Christians do not vote for BJP or BJP aligned AIADMK faithfully. In that manner, Congress plays a trick of “Karnataka” in Tamilnadu, by spitting the votes of AIADMK. The background of Kamal Hassan and Rajinikantha, though not clear, their politics affect only the interests of BJP alliance in Tamilnadu. They can better concentrate to analyze critically as to why RSS could not grow ideologically influencing others.

Periyar on Paraichi- jacket

How to counter Dravidian ideology?: Dravidian Ideology has been powerful, attractive and alive in the minds of crores of people of Tamil speaking people. Many times, majority of them could be brought together or influenced with emotional appeal or threat that “Tamils are targeted, Tamil is danger, Tamil is suppressed by Hindi, Hindi is imposed to deprive out cultural rights” and so on. Though, they have been becoming pious, religious and believing, not because of “Hindu binding,” but, their traditional Tamil rituals, rites and ceremonies. Their caste-politics has been so dominating to capture, keep and enjoy power with economic superiority.  Even, today, the TN-BJP has been divided on dravidian fault-lines which could not be cemented with “Hindutwa” as could be clearly observed in the followers, meetings held and social media. Their nuances of “inner-outer” dramatic twists, diplomatic duplicities and dogmatic digs are not learned. First of all, no effective speaker has been produced and the borrowed ones are always drifted to other parties or started their own splinter groups.

Periyar breaking vinayaka idols

  1. In TN-BJP, the leaders have been operating on caste based groupings and followers impacting others.
  2. The second rung leaders have been divided among themselves, depending upon the power, wealth and other factors.
  3. The third level leaders have been divided among themselves as usual division, zone, group, RSS-non-RSS, and such factors.
  4. These three divisions have been further divided based on egoist groups, envying enemies, caste and other factors.
  5. Most of them have been appearing and active only when NDA is in power.
  6. Besides, social media struggle and group rivalry exhibited, there have been flooding of anonymous letters written to Modi down to local office.

  8. Though negative suggestion, propaganda etc., are not advisable, they always indulge in such activities, exposing themselves.

Ezra Sargunam, Church planting, land grabbing, politics and communalization under the guise of secularization!

Ezra Sargunam, Church planting, land grabbing, politics and communalization under the guise of secularization!

ECI for church planting

The controversial Christian priest Ezra Shargunam and his land grabbing activities: In September 2017, when there was rumour about M. Karunanidhi, Ezra Sargunam gave interview to the media and certified that[1], “I met Karunanidhi, he is doing well….He looked at me……” It was surprise for many, as why a Christian priest should have done it, particularly, when Karunanidhi has been an atheist. Of course, Ezra’s role in political circles is considered as “broking”.  While Vaiko is criticized recently [this month, November 2017] for his “Christian” leanings and “crypto-Christian” activities, ironically, he himself dubbed Ezra Sargunam as “false-prophet” citing Bible[2]. He warned that people like him are tigers roaming with sheep’s skin. Thus, the role of Ezra has been intriguing on many accounts. Earlier in his book, he has openly recorded that there is nothing wrong in land grabbing[3]. That is whatever is done in the name of Jesus, it is allowed. Again, there have been court cases, involving him with land grabbing. In this context, what had happened 17 years ago in Gujarat, becomes important in the context.  Interestingly, the same Ezra Sargunam played a crucial role there. He was reportedly involved in a land grabbing case, where he tried to interfere and created “law and order problem.” As he had gone there as “the chairman of the Tamil Nadu Minority Commission,” the state authoties pointed out that he was out of jurisdiction and hence they could take action to arrest him for violations. Thus, he prepared to move bail to save his honour. The Gujarat Government also complained to the Government of Tamilnadu.

Ezra politics

Karunanidhi asked Ezra Sargunam to return, as he exceeded limits: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, has asked the president of the Evangelical Society of India and chairman of the Tamil Nadu Minority Commission, Bishop Ezra Sargunam, to leave Gujarat and return home immediately, according to the Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Mr. Haren Pandya, here today [06-12-2000][4]. Mr. Pandya showed reporters a copy of the fax message sent by Mr. Karunanidhi to his Gujarat counterpart, Mr. Keshubhai Patel, urging the Bishop in Vyara hospital in Surat district, to return home[5]. The message also assured the Bishop that the issue of alleged attack on a church in Chhindia village of Vyara taluka, against which he launched an indefinite fast, could be taken up with an “appropriate authority” later. The Bishop was forcibly admitted to the Vyara Civil Hospital yesterday [05-12-2000] after his condition deteriorated.

Bishop Sundar Singh was commissioned as the new presiding Bishop of ECI.

Ezra was trying to instigate local Christians: The message, Mr. Pandya said, was in response to a request sent by the State Government pointing out that the Bishop was “trying to instigate” Christians in Chhindia village and creating a “law and order problem”. The Tamil Nadu Government was also informed that the chairman of its Minority Commission had “no jurisdiction” over Gujarat and had adopted a stance of non- cooperation with the authorities. Virtually blaming the Christians for the dispute over the church in the village, Mr. Pandya said the Government would take “stern action” against anyone found “instigating” people. It was a “deliberate scheme” of the Christians to “defame the BJP government in the State”, he claimed.

Bishop refused to leave causes unrest, The Tribune, 09-12-2000

Christian plot to grab the land of a tribal: Denying knowledge of the involvement of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad in the incident of November 26 as alleged by the All-India Christian Council, the Minister said the land on which the “so- called church” was functioning actually belonged to Mr. Puniyabhai Ukadiabhai Kotwalia, a local tribal. Mr. Puniyabhai, who became a Christian some time ago, recently re-converted to Hinduism. On November 29, the Christian Council lodged a complaint with the Vyara police stating that a group of VHP activists “attacked the church” in Chhindia village on November 26 and “desecrated it”. Mr. Puniayabhai, meanwhile, accused Christian leaders of “forcibly entering” the “premises owned by him” and taking away the picture of a Hindu deity.

Karu asked Ezra Sargunam to return to TN, Dec.07, 2000 - The Hindu

Conversion trick to create communal tension: While the Council spokesman, Mr. Samson Christian, said the piece of land was jointly owned by seven persons who together handed it over to the local Christian community for building a church in 1996, Mr. Pandya claimed that according to government records, Mr. Puniyabhai was sole owner of the land and inherited it from his father. The “church” was actually a room in his residence which he had “allowed local Christians to use as a prayer hall,” Mr. Pandya said. Mr. Christian had accused the local police of working hand-in- glove with the VHP in attacking the church in the presence of senior government officials including the District Collector and the District Superintendent of Police. Mr. Pandya said the Revenue Department gave Mr. Puniyabhai ownership of the land in June, 1992, as he was cultivating it since 1975. Under the Tenancy Act, he had no authority to sell or re-allocate it to anyone else without the prior permission of the Government and there was no question of his giving the land for construction of a church. But after Mr. Puniyabhai became a Christian in 1995, one of the rooms was used by local Christians as a prayer hall. He re-converted to Hinduism six months ago and since then has refused permission for the room to be used as a church.

Bail granted to Ezra Sargunam, Dec.15, 2000 - The Hindu

Land grabbing Ezra’s style carried on in Gujarat: Contrary to Mr. Samson Christian’s claims, Mr. Pandya said a group of Christians forcibly entered the room on November 26 and removed the picture of a Hindu deity. On a complaint filed by Mr. Puniyabhai, the Vyara civil court issued a stay on December 1 against the use of the land by either sides and fixed the hearing on December 12. The issue could have been resolved earlier but for the adjournment sought twice on November 30 and December 4 by the local Christians on its hearing, Mr. Pandya claimed. He alleged that Bishop Sargunam went on an indefinite fast only after the civil court granted the stay. The Christian Council also filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court against the stay granted by the Vyara civil court. Mr. Pandya also refuted the Council’s claim that 200 Christians had migrated from the village after November 26. The Vyara social justice committee chairman along with some other officials visited the village and found that all the people were staying in their respective houses, he said. No migration had taken place as claimed by Mr. Christian, he stated and pointed out that in the village with a population of 1,500, over 75 per cent were Hindus and the rest Christians.

Local Court granted bail for Ezra, thus escaped from arrest[6]: The Vyara civil court today [14-12-2000] granted anticipatory bail to Bishop Ezra Sargunam, the national president of the Evangelical Church of India, but refused him permission to enter any place within its jurisdiction, which include Chhindia village in south Gujarat, where a church of his denomination was allegedly attacked on November 26, 2000. The Bishop, who is also the chairman of the Tamil Nadu Minority Commission, had filed the anticipatory bail following a criminal complaint filed against him and a few others by the “owner” of the piece of land on which the church stood, Mr. Punyabhai Kotwalia, for allegedly “trespassing” on his property[7]. The Bishop had launched an indefinite fast in front of the church on November 29 demanding restoration of the church, which the Christians claimed was desecrated during the attack and converted into a temple. The Vyara civil court, while granting a stay on December 1 on Mr Punyabhai’s petition that the land was his “personal property,” had also directed the Bishop to stay away from Vyara taluka. The Bishop, who is still here meeting with other Christian leaders, had made it clear that he would take a decision on the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. M. Karunanidhi’s message to return to Chennai only “in consultation with the leaders of the secular forces.”

Ezra politics-land grabbing--church alliance-atheism

Ezra indulged in objectionable activities: The Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Mr. Haren Pandya, when asked about the Vyara civil court’s order, said the State Government would ensure that the court order was “strictly implemented” hinting that it would not hesitate to arrest the Bishop if he made any attempt to return to Vyara or Chhindia. The State Home Secretary, Dr V. V. Rama Subba Rao, has written to the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary, informing him about the “objectionable activities” of the Bishop in the State. Like the Chief Minister, Mr. Keshubhai Patel, who wrote to his Tamil Nadu counterpart twice requesting him to recall the Bishop, Dr. Subba Rao has also requested the Chief Secretary to take immediate steps to ensure that the Bishop stopped “interfering” with the law and order situation in the State[8]. In fact, his refusal to leave, created tension in the area[9]. Meanwhile, the State Government has decided to make elaborate security arrangements in the south Gujarat districts to ensure peace during the Christmas and New Year celebrations. At a meeting of the district collectors and district superintendents of police of Surat, Bulsar, Navsari and Dangs districts convened here today by Mr. Pandya and Dr. Subba Rao, it was decided to deploy adequate number of state reserve police and anti-riot Rapid Action Force personnel in the four districts to assist the local police and home guards to maintain peace during the celebrations.

Ezra politics- Vijaya kanth

PTI reports from Surat: The sessions court today banned the entry of Bishops Ezra Sargunam and Fr. Raive Ishudas of Chennai into the Vyara sub- division, without the written permission from the court. According to the conditions imposed by the court on the Bishops, the orders would be applicable till the chargesheet was filed against them. The court allowed anticipatory bail applications by the Bishops and dismissed the criminal application filed by Shankarbhai Gamit of Vyara. The Vyara police was directed to enlarge the two Bishops on bail on their furnishing a solvent surity of Rs. 5000 with a personal bond for the like sum each in the event of their arrest in an offence registered by the Vyara police station.  The same news was also reproduced by the Catholic news agency it its own way[10]. “An Indian court has banned a Protestant bishop from entering the area of a disputed chapel in a ruling the bishop says was politically motivated to harass Christians….. Bishop Sargunam, vice chairman of the Minorities Commission of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, said he left Gujarat after state authorities refused to meet him…….. The Protestant bishop told UCA News that he had to leave the area because of the state government´s partisan approach toward Christians. Anti-Christian attacks in Gujarat are “State-sponsored vandalism,” he said. More than 100 attacks against Christians have been reported in Gujarat in the last two years.” Thus, the persecution myth went on in their own way[11].

Black magic, transfer of spirit and all sorceries carried on in the Land of Dravidanadu, where Periyar was born (1)

The Dravidian totalitarian and rationalistic rule during 1960-70s: In Tamilnadu, the Dravidian politicians used to claim about their “rational atheism”, “analytical wisdom” and so on, but in actual life, most of them have been God-believers worshipping God stealthily or by proxy i.e., through their mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. Some of them used to worship gods stealthily in their houses also with puja rooms. However, they say that “I am an atheist, but, I do not interfere with the belief of our family members”. How then, they could interfere with belief of crores of people of Tamilnadu? In public and platform, they pour abuses with the worst filthy language on Hindu religion, Gods and Goddesses and practices that no woman could bear. Yet, they have earned the titles of “Periyar” [big / great person among others or all], “Aringnar” [the only person who knows all], “Kalainjar” [the person who has been expert in all arts / subjects] and so on! Thus, the superiority complex that has been working in their mind set, makes others always to listen to them, accept what they say and none should or could ask any question. During the 1960s, if anybody would question them would be thrashed down.

DK celebrated Ravana Leela in 1974

During the LPG regime / Internet age, questioning started: This is the way, they have been reigning supreme for the last 60 years. Only their views made public and circulated authoritatively[1]. However, when, internet came, the people started understanding their ambiguous dogma, hollow philosophy and dubious ideology of these groups. The youngsters could easily understand their selective, biased and pre-conceived propaganda carried against one particular religion i.e, Hindu religion[2]. As a ruler, the Dravidian or atheist Chief Minister has to administer and perform his duties as per the Constitutional and other statutory provisions treating all believers. However, in the case of Hindu religion, temples, temple administration, lease and rental of temple and mutt properties, conduct of rituals, rites and ceremonies, they interfered and spoiled many times. Though, the recent past is suppressed, the beating of Rama with chappals and other incidences make the youngsters to realize the duplicity of the Dravidian protagonists. The ganging up of splinter groups of Communists, anti-Hindu ideologists, particularly the Christian and Muslim groups joining them raise questions and they have understood that it is only anti-Hindu and secular or “Paguttaravi”, as being claimed. Under such circumstances, the recent happenings in Tamilnadu exposes their another ugly face of them.

DK celebrated Ravana Leela in 1974- burned

Annadurai suddely died in 1969: C. N. Annadurai from high caste Mudaliar community was in power during the period 1967 – 1969. However, he fell ill due to excessive usage of tobacco substances. In September 1968 Annadurai went to New York for medical treatment and admitted in the hospital. After diagnosis, it was found out that there was malignant growth in his gullet and hence he was operated for Cancer in the gullet at the Memorial Sloan–Kettering Cancer Center. He returned to Chennai in November 1968 and continued to address several official functions against medical advice. His health deteriorated further and he died suddenly on 3 February 1969 within three months returning from USA after sugery and treatment. His cancer was attributed to his habit of chewing tobacco. However, some of the family members doubted about his sudden death. When Karunanidhi immediately took over as CM, people resented about his haste action.  They questioned why the senior pontiff Sri Chandrasekhara Saraswati of Kanchi Mutt wore spectacles as to why God could not have rectified his eyesight without glasses. But, here, none questioned as to why the science allowed man to die in that way in spite of the treatment etc. Later, MGR was also subjected to similar conditions. M. R. Radha attempted to kill MGR (on January 12, 1967), of course, he was not in power. After becoming CM, he was also not having proper health (in 1983 kidney problem developed), admitted to Brooklyn hospital US, returned after kidney transplant on February 4, 1985, but had to get treatment again and again in US and died on December 24, 1987.

Fire walk by the DK

Dravidian brand of astrologers, predictors and magicians: When the DMK came to power, the first thing, they did was to legalize the marriages performed under the “Pakuthtarivi” / “Suyamariyadhai” categories, as such marriages were held null and void in the courts. The rationalism did not work with the scientific judiciary system. Thus, they became cautious in dealing with social issues. The Dravidian politicias have been interested in astrology, auspicious time and date, black magic and all sorts of such superstitious practices, irrational rites and credulous rituals. Though, they denounce everything in public, in private, they practiced and hence their brand of Dravidian astrologers, predicting experts and magicians have been developed in due course and they have to keep the secrets in person, not to tell anybody in public and carry on their business, to safeguard their interests. That is why Karunanidhi used to hesitate to enter the Brahadheswarar temple, but wear yellow shwal as per the advice of his “asthana jyodhidar”, court / personal astrologer. Under such circumstances, the current events are to be analyzed.

Dravida fire-pot imitating

The antics, gimmicks and counter-rituals of of Dravida Kazhagam and allied groups: The Dravidar Kazhagam used to play gimmicks by imitating the  ritual of coconut breaking, fasting during eclipses, firewalk, carrying pots of burning coal, spiking one’s tongue and body with iron hooks, the concept of auspicious time, astrology, palm reading etc[3]. Though, they used to criticize only Hindu religion for the so-called “ritualism”[4], they close eyes, when they themselves follow such “ritualistic” practices, i.e, respecting the statues of EVR, Maniammai, celebrating birth and death days, garlanding and showering the idols with flowers. However, they never reenact the “crucifixion” of the Christians and bleeding beatings of “Shia Muslims” exposing their hypocrisy. Again, when Jayalalita was in hospital, the followers carried on all devoted rituals and rites praying all gods to save her. Incidentally, they were carried on in the most “secular” way, in the sense, Christians and Muslims have also participated. Therefore, tactfully, the DK groups kept silence to prove their ideology!

Was black magiv involved inn the death of Amma

Was Jayalalita died because of black magic?: The Daily Mail, UK carried a news item as follows[5]: “A leading astro guru in Chennai has said that Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa is a victim of black magic which has left her hospitalised since September, 2017. Not willing to identify himself for security reasons, the spiritual guru said Jayalalithaa has suffered from bad health because she has too many rivals. “It’s not just people from the rival party (DMK) who have spent huge money on tantriks to damage Jayalalithaa’s health. “I have no hesitation in saying that she has detractors even within her own party (AIADMK) who wanted to see her suffer,” he said. News on the health condition of Jayalalithaa is being kept a top secret. She is admitted in Apollo hospital in Chennai. Apart from a team of in-house specialists, doctors from the AIIMS New Delhi and a critical care specialist from London, are also involved in ensuring the CM is now stable. The astro guru also said it was quite possible Jayalalithaa’s arch rival M Karunanidhi could also be suffering from bad health due to tantrik spells. “Rivalry in political circles is very common and it would be wrong to say only one political party indulges in black magic and sorcery. This is noholds barred…,” he said”.

Was black magiv involved inn the death of Amma-2

The position and condition when Jaya was not feeling well (September to December 2016): What we can understand from this, are the following points[6]:

  1. Not willing to identify himself for security reasons, the spiritual guru said Jayalalithaa has suffered from bad health because she has too many rivals.
  2. “It’s not just people from the rival party (DMK) who have spent huge money on tantriks to damage Jayalalithaa’s health.
  3. “I have no hesitation in saying that she has detractors even within her own party (AIADMK) who wanted to see her suffer,” he said.
  4. News on the health condition of Jayalalithaa was being kept a top secret.

Thus, the nexus between the Dravidian politicians and the tantriks came out publically in the media. Ironically, none of the Dravidian ideologists like K. Veeramani, Kali Pungundran, “Viduthalai” Rajendran, Kolattur Mani and others refuted this, but, kept quite. Whom they were meeting, how the money paid, where the rituals taking place – the details – nothing known or revealed to anybody. Under such circumstances, the black magic affairs of one Karthikeyan came just after the death of Jayalalitha on 05-12-2016.

[1] In 1956 August first, Dravidia Kazhagam asked the volunteers to bum pictures of Lord Rama as the organization considered Ramayana as anti-women and anti lower castes etc. one Dravidia Kazhagam leader in the name of Thiruvarur Thangarajan wrote a new version of Ramayana way Rama was portrayed as a villain. The Dravidia Kazhagam film star M.R. Radha staged the play throughout the state. The Government led by the Chief Minister Kamaraj immediately banned the play but Dravidia Kazhagam after obtaining court’s pem1ission staged the play in selected towns.

[2]  At the instigation of Thiru E. V. Ramaswami Naicker, the Leader of Dravida Kazhagam, several tableaus depicting the picture of Gods Rama and Muruga were being beaten by a chappal in a procession held at Salem on 23rd and 24th January 1971. When one individual printed the photos of the procession, the DMK government banned and seized the posters.  The Government of Tamil Nadu issued a Notification G. O. Ms. No. 491 Home dated 12-2-1971 directing the posters to be forfeited to the Government on the ground that the said posters contained matters which promote or intend to promote the feelings of enmity and hatred between different classes of citizens of India or which is deliberately or maliciously intended to outrage the religious feelings of any such class by insulting the religion or the religious feelings of that class.

The so-called 300 / 3000 Ramayanas: The Dravidian propaganda

March 6, 2012

The so-called 300 / 3000 Ramayanas: The Dravidian propaganda

By Sri Vedaprakash, March 16, 2008

Note: This topic is again and again brought to the notice of the readers. However, the atheists, the Dravidian propagandists, Communists, Christians and Muslims hiding under such banners again and again rake up the issue without reading Ramayana. Unfortunately, they even do not read what these Ramanujan, Paukla and others have written. Yet, they go on rehash the stuff. Therefore, I have to point out their hollowness to plant such mischievous postings appearing then and there.
Ramayana once again[1]!:Ever since the Sethu-Samuthram controversy has cropped up, the Dravidian ideologists, Karu’s Court Historians[2] and others ganged up together circulating the old-stories as authentic histories. Of course, the propaganda carried on by this hysterical gang has parallel only in Hitler’s camp. Of course, any reader can note it is the Black Parivar[3] and the Red Parivar[4] would very often take the Hitler-stick to beat others, but they do not realize that they have been following only Hitler. Coming to the point, now their main attack has been against Rama and Ramayana and therefore, the Karu’s Court historians started digging up old polemical writings, scurrilous pamphlets and anti-Hindu literature to serve their perverted purpose.

The “Viduthalai” [5] (March 14th and 13th dated), the DK-mouth piece, but with the blessings of Karu has brought out one brief of A. K. Ramanujam’s paper “Three Hundred Ramayanas”. T. R. Balu has made a visit and met Karu on 14th. Therefore, the coincidence can be noted and there would be raking up the issue again. The Communist super intelligent leaders have also started the nonsensical blabbering that Ramayana is myth and so on.

The Dravidian Love for Paula Richman: Recently, the Dravidian protagonists have again started their blasphemy against Sri Rama under the guise of historical research, analytical wisdom, Aryan-Dravidian race hypotheses[6] , their (Aryan-Dravidian) continuous struggle-for- ever in India and other ideologies. Incidentally, now, one way or the other, as they have drawn attention to Paula Richman’s book, “Many Ramayanas”, it is imperative to read what exactly, she mentions about the subject, which has been so fascinated to these atheist rabble-rousers. I have read the book carefully and particularly, the interpretations, many times to understand the psyche behind it. Actually, the whole story has not been new Indian scholars, researchers and at least, those who know about the origin of Ramayana[7]. A. K. Ramanujam’s paper[8] “Three Hundred Ramayanas” appears in “Many Ramayanas” of Paula Richman.

The book is nothing but compilation of articles of different personalities, purportly to look into the diversity of a narrative tradition in South Asia. Narrative, rendering, oral tradition, from oral to writing and vice versa, translation etc., can be entertained only literary criticism, when such liberality of literature is there in a society. Where, the thought process is control, such exercise cannot be undertaken. In fact, in many non-Indian societies, such narrative, rendering, oral tradition, from oral to writing and vice versa, translation etc., had been done away long back. Even today in the so-called modern, civilized, advanced, progressed, etc., times, such exercise is not possible in other non-Indian literature. Therefore, the literary critics should understand and appreciate the nuances, before criticizing the “many Ramayanas” or sending wrong signals.

Paula Richman has stories of A. K. Ramanujan, Frank E. Reynolds, Kathleen E. Erndl, David Shulman, Velcheru Narayan Rao, Clinton Seely, Staurt H. Blackburn, Paula Richman, Patricia Y. Mumme, Philip Lutgendorf, and Ramdas Lamb discuss about such narratives etc., and it appears as English rendering of any Tamil Pattimandram discussing the very old questions of mutilation of Surpanaka, Sita’s fire ordeal, etc. Unfortuinately, the sole aim of the compilation appears to deride, disparage and denigrate by choosing the topic under the guise research with historical camouflage.

300 or 3000 Ramayanas?: That there are “300 Ramayanas” as exactly counted has not been the original idea of A. K. Ramanujan, but, as he himself confessed that it belongs to one “student of Ramayana”, Canille Bulcke[9], who only counted so – exactly 300! Then to add his contribution, A. K. Ramanujan mentions[10] that according to a Kannada scholar[11] there are more than a thousand Ramayanas in Kannada! Then, adds that according to a Telugu scholar[12] there are more than a thousand Ramayanas in Telugu! At least, the Telugu scholar appears to be probably reasonable, as he said “more than a thousand”! It is not known why the learned scholar stops with, as he could have consulted Malayali scholar, Marathi scholar, Oriya scholar, Bengali scholar, Gujarathi scholar, Rajasthani scholar, Hindi scholar, Kashmiri scholar and so on.

So here, the point is that Ramayana story has been so popular among every society of the ancient civilizations and accepted by the members of different societies, each member wanted to recognize and transform such Ramayana character to the identified members of society or vice versa for exhibiting similar or same characteristics. When one asks, “Ey, why are you sleeping like Kumbakarna?” , it does not imply that his brother is like Ravana and so on. It has been used figuratively to drive out the point as such characterization has been known to everybody. Thus, he cannot be considered to have created one more Ramayana!

The so-called freedom of thought expression and opinion: The existence of 300 or 3,000 or 30,000 Ramayanas has been the credit to the popularity of Ramayana as a human-literature, Universal literature long back and it does not discredit as the existence of more Bibles[13] or Quarans or Korans[14], as the very mention would be anathema. Perhaps, the persons, who talk about “300 Ramayanas” do not know the existence of more Bibles or Korans., but the faithful believers destroyed many or all according to their own estimate and accounting and finally have one “printed version”, declared as infallible and revealed through God as the “Word of God”, so none could change anything thereafter. But they do not explain why there were hundreds of Bibles and Korans and why they were destroyed. How they could have selected the existing version only as the exact tract as revealed to their respective prophets to be accepted as authentic and authorized. How such divine grace had descended on the chosen group to decide and do accordingly.

Indians have not leaned the art of editing, expurging and interpolation of verses of books, as done by the non-Indians. They have not learned the art of destruction of earlier, differing or opposing versions and to claim that this is the only “Authorized version” or “Revealed Book”.

The Arabic tradition of rendering Poetry and Koran: The Arabic tradition has been that the Arabic poets would only recite their poems, be listened and enjoyed and appreciated by others and they were never written down. Particularly, in the case of Koran, it was strongly believed that as it was revealed by Allah through Jibreal / Gabriel to the Prophet Mohammed (PBCH), it has to be learned by heart by listening to the recital by the experts. There had / have been groups exclusively for the purpose of recital of Koran. Only later, the writing down of Koran and its translation into other non-Arabic languages started. As Ibn Warraq has elaborately dealt with about it, it is not discussed here. In fact, Mohammed Mamaduke Picthall[15] in his foreword clearly records the following points:

1.. It may be reasonably claimed that no Holy Scriptures can be fairly presented by one who disbelieves its inspiration and its message.
2.. The Koran cannot be translated. That is the belief of old-fashioned sheikhs and the view of the present writer (H. M. Pitchall).
3.. …the Glorious Koran, that inimitable symphony, the very sounds of which move men to tears and ecstasy.

In India, the society has been liberal, democratic and egalitarian, so the members have liberty to pursue their literary pursuits. Thus, they make one God to many Gods; make male and female Gods with child God also; many times lover; employer and slave; chieftain, king and emperor and so on. It increases his thinking and creativity. The painter and sculptors too follow such pattern and depict Gods and Goddesses accordingly. This is the real freedom of thought, expression, and exhibition of artistic talent. That is why the negative characterization is opposed and condemned. Nowadays, it has become fashion for elite artists, eminent historians and social activists to come out and support such errant perverts, but it is not correct, as could be seen. For example, A cannot of sleeping with B’s wife, just because, he has the freedom of thinking. Having such freedom of thinking, he cannot express openly to B, because he has freedom of expression. As B too have such rights and starts exercise his rights of freedom of thought and expression the consequences are well known. Therefore, there are individual rights which should not violate the rights of others. If this fundamental is not known or knowingly, continuously violated, definitely the peaceful people may react one day. Therefore, it is better to live amicably instead of provoking others. In such situations and conditions, only the provoking forces are barbaric, medieval, lumpen and so on.

Any other world literature does not have such elasticity, flexibility, liberality, democracy, egalitarianism proves that they are controlled and suppressed. Therefore, there cannot be any freedom of thought, expression and opinion entertained in such societies. Even, there is no freedom to tell the fact that there were 300 / 3000 Bibles and Korans, but they were destroyed and now there is only one! Here, Salman Rusdie and H. F. Hussain can be contrasted in the context; Ibn Warraq and EVR; Karunanidhi and Taslima Nasreen; Bertrand Russell and Thomas Paine; and so on.

Ramayana characters could be human beings of any age: As mentioned, because of the flexibility of the characterization of Ramayana, it is applicable to any time and place. Ramayana and Mahabharata are played everywhere by the people with their available men and materials. Therefore, in such depiction, dramatization and adapted-rendering, there would variance in all aspects. Taking these literary critics cannot make big fuss out of it. Now Rama and Ravana may come with pants and shirts also. If it becomes, popular, it would be carried on enjoyed by a group. Can it we say, it is 301th Ramayana or 3001th? Yes, it is correct, “as long as there are many Ramas, there would be more Ramayanas”.

But no other literature could be subjected to such process, as in the non-Indian tradition, the very such thought might be unthinkable. We cannot have many non-Indian heroes or Gods. Can Paula Richman produce an edition of “Many Bibles”, “Many Qurans”, like that or any narratives and oral traditions of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Mohammed, Fatima etc.(just for example, it is asked). Believers of the respective lands and countries know the existence of such narratives, renderings and oral traditions available here and there, but Paula cannot compile. Why even the New Testament apocrypha or Hadis renderings are not discussed, debated and papers presented.

Who can analyze the non-Indian characters (including heroes and heroines, deified heroes and heroines and Gods and Goddesses themselves), criticize or justify their acts of omission or commission, and bring all renderings along with Thomas Paine, Robert Ingersol, Salmon Rushdie, Taslima Nasreen etc. Even Tembavani[16] and Sirappuranam[ 17] cannot be rendered in English, as the orthodox might oppose some verses. In fact, they had already objected to “Kesadhipada varnanai” (= the Tamil traditional narrative of a woman character whoever may be from head to feet, part by part) and removed such verses. Therefore, without going into the details, the western scholars go on commit blunders under the guise of research and it is totally wrong. They should ponder over. As they have big-big University labels, our Dravidian friends immediately, take their renderings and they produce their own renderings to blaspheme Hindus. Here only, the problem comes.

SUN-TV and Ramayana: In SUN-TV group of companies, Karunanidhi and his family members have shares. So why SUN-TV all of sudden start broadcasting “Ramayana”, that too, the much hated, criticized and blasphemed one. Why not the “Ravana Kaviyam” of Kulandai? It is promoted, looked. Loved and considered as “divine” by the Dravidian protagonists including Karnanidhi. He has already accepted that he supports Ravana and he belongs to such clan! Of course, even Kalainjar TV cannot be prevented in broadcasting Ramayana or Mahabhrata, but what about the ideology? They cannot abuse Hindus and cater them with this tamasha. They cannot kill Hindu culture and do this nonsense. They cannot soil the sanctity of temples and try to do some gimmicks. Of course, we know they do not follow the dictum of “Padippathu Ramayanam, idippathu Pillaiyar koil”, but, they meddle with Ramayana and demolish the Temple of Ramayana. That is why now the target is Ramar-palam!

Karunanidhi, Jaggi Vasudev and Sankaracharya

karu-as-nataraja

Atheism, Religion and Politics of “Spirituality”: The attitude of Karunanidhi, a sworn atheist and surprisingly heading a State of Secular India perplexes in any aspect – politically, socially, and psychologically. His mind-set towards Hindu religion, Hindu Gods and Goddesses, Hindu scriptures, Hindu rituals, rites and ceremony has been also intriguing, as he has been passing only sarcastic, caustic and venomous remarks, comments and criticism, whether it is warranted or wanton. The just-past events make Indians to view the inconsistencies, contradictions or inexplicable things crept into similar events but dealt with differently by various people, authorities and others involved. How and why the rulers behave with one group of religious believers in one particular way, whereas with other, they act differently? Is there any selective atheism that one should believe in one god but blaspheme other god? Is there any spirituality that trees [planted by one would grow and planted by others wither away?

Karunanidhi -Tirupati priests

Appeasement or expiation? He called the Grama-pujaris ( Village Temple priests) as “Pandarams, Paradeshis” and so on, but participated in the Conference organized by VHP in Madurai. After coming to power, ironically, he activated the Board for them (in early 2007), obviously to appease them, expiate or repent for the sins committed, if at all, he is believed in it. More irony is the “thanks-giving” functions organized by Gramapujarigal Peravai, a VHP affiliated organization. In fact, though the board was set up in 2001, it did not function in the last five years. S.Vedantham, the Managing Trustee of the Board, who met the Chief Minister (as reported by the Hindu 24-12-2006) brought this to the notice of the non-functioning and he agreed to do the needful.Hindu organisations, led by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, had thus succeeded in getting the demands of lakhs of Grama Koil Poojaris (village temple priests) fulfilled at last when M. Karunanidhi cleared on January 13, 2007, the proposal to constitute a welfare board for village priests in the state. The board is a social security measure for priests of village temples not coming under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department that administers bigger temples. A few weeks before the state government’s announcement, VHP leaders including its international vice president Shri. S. Vedantam and state youth wing organiser Shri. R.R. Gopaljee met the Chief Minister to press the VHP demand in favour of Grama Koil Poojaris.

Arrest of Jayendra

The Arrest of Sankaracharya in 2004: On the Deepavali eve in November 2004, Sankaracharya was arrested. Karunanidhi, the arrest in a murder case as an “honest and commendable action.” He hoped that the law would be allowed to take its course without interference. Addressing a press conference here, he said though it could not be denied that the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Government had “close links with the Sankara Mutt,” its head was arrested. A fast, planned by the DMK and its allies at Kancheepuram demanding the arrest of the Sankaracharya, was not necessary, thanks to the police action, he said.  Karunanidhi said the arrest episode reminded him of the saying, “if a virtuous woman commits a sin she can cleanse herself by having a dip in the Ganges but where will she go seeking atonement if the holy river itself is polluted?” The atheist and secular CM does not apply the same yardstick to all!

Jaggi with his wife Krishnakumari

Karunanidhi kept quite when Jaggi Vasudev was charged with murder in 1997: The following is the Indian Express report as appearing on October 12, 1997 about Police registering a case of murder by Jaggi Vasudev:

Coimbatore, Oct, 11: Close on the heels of scandals relating to fake godmen getting exposed, yet another ashram from Coimbatore is in the limelight with Jaggi Vasudev aliash Jagadeesh of Isha Yoga ashram at Poondi near Coimbatore, being charged with the murder of his wife Viji alias Vijayakumari.A team of police personnel recently visited the premises of Isha Ashram at poondi and interrogated the inmates of the ashram. Godman Jaggi is away in the US.According to police, T. S. Ganganna of Bangalore (father of Viji) had preferred a complaint with the Bangalore Police suspecting foul play in the death of his daughter Viji. The complaintant had stated that his daughter left him last on June 15, 1996. He reportedly received a message on January 23, 1997, from Jaggi Vasudev, stating that Viji was no more.Ganganna said that Jaggi Vasudev had hurriedly completed the cremation on Jan.24 even before they could rush from Bangalore, raising suspicion about the nature of death. He suspected death due to poisoning or strangulation.According to him, Jaggi Vasudev could have caused the death of Viji to facilitate his illicit relationship with yet another inmate of the ashram. Based on the complaint of Ganganna to the Bangalore City Police on Aug. 12, a case was registered. The Bangalore City Police transferred it to the Coimbatore Rural Police. The Coimbatore Rural Police have registered a case against Jaggi Vasudev under Section 302 of IPC (murder) and IPC 201 (suppression of evidence).Later. Isa Yoga Foundatrion has denied reports that Jaggi Vasudev had fled to USA to avoid investigation of ashram. Authorised Signatory of Ashram Kiran stated that Guruji had gone for giving lectures . ENS

Jaggi charged with murder

But nothing is known to the Public or citizens of Tamilnadu or Karnatka. Incidentally, just after the arrest of Sankaracharya, a Catholic priest was arrested in Kanyakumari area for murder, rape etc., Though, initially reports appeared in newspapers, totally there was silence in the media. In fact, about Jaggi nothing came in any TV-Channel, as compared to wide, prolonged and repeated coverage of Sankarachrya. No eminent writer, actress or any other complained or gave interview in SUN or UDAY TV. And Karunanidhi – oh, it did not concern at all. He never comented after reading newspaper said the episode reminded him of the saying, “if a virtuous woman commits a sin she can cleanse herself by having a dip in the Ganges but where will she go seeking atonement if the holy river itself is polluted?” Why, obviously. Because, Jaggi was not arrested! No agitation announced urging the government to arrest. On November 13, 2002, he said laws should be enacted to curb fake godmen mushrooming. Those who introduced such laws must have a progressive outlook and a commitment to rid society of superstition. Awareness should be created among the people to end frauds committed in the name of god, religion and spirituality. The heads of mutts should not misuse religious symbols to cover up their wrongdoings, he said. “We wish that the trial is conducted in a fair manner without any interference. Let us wait and see how things take their course” was his reply to a question on apprehensions raised, considering the Sankaracharya”s “political influence.” On reports of persons holding high offices visiting the Mutt to show their proximity to the Sankaracharya, Mr. Karunanidhi said it was unfair that constitutional functionaries such as the President were made to stand before religious heads. How then, he accommodated a charge-sheeted and murder accused person, sat with him? Before Indian law also, like Karunanidhi, the Saints are discriminated by religion ad ideology? Can the Law and judiciary be ideologized? NYes, naturally, wjen atheist or Communist or Communalist Judges are appointed by the Politicians, how they would deliver judgments?

Karunanidhi supporting Jaggi - 2012

Karunanidhi urges ascetics to follow Jaggi Vasudev’s lead 2007: The nation and the world would be better off, if all the ascetics follow the path shown by Jaggi Vasudev, founder of Isha Foundation, in environmental protection, Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi said on 24-09-2007. Addressing a function organised by the foundation to mark its 25th anniversary, he said he always held in high esteem the religious leaders such as Kundrakudi Adigal and his successor for their service to Tamil. He respected Sri Jaggi Vasudev for his effort at planting of saplings. He preferred ascetics who strove for social uplift to those who focused only on religion. Those who talked of religion alone issued fearsome threats and imprecation, the Chief Minister said, presiding over the launch of a campaign for planting of 2.5 crore saplings. http://www.thehindu.com/2007/09/24/stories/2007092454470500.htmD.R. Karthikeyan, former Director, Central Bureau of Investigation, referred to the agrarian crisis in different parts of the country and said insurance cover and remunerative prices would solve the problems of farmers. Launching the green campaign, Kanimozhi, Member of Parliament, said religion was meant for elevating people, not to divide them. Sudha Raghunathan, musician and devotee of Sri Jaggi Vasudev, welcomed the gathering. They never cared for Jaggi’s involvement. The speech of Karunanidhi during the Silver jubilee function of Isha Yoga Maiyam held at the grounds of Anna University on 23rd September had been interesting to note, as on the same day so many other things were going on. This is given, because, “The Hindu” had given only edited version. “The tree-planting activity has been going on and I get an opportunity to participate. I can understand the love of people in the service of tree plantation who have come from hamlets and villages, which is possible because of the hard work of Karttikeyan and efforts of  Sathguru. I can feel about the attraction of Sathguru”s advice and gracious words reaching hamlets. There have been many Turaviyar. I breathe out with emotion how this land, why any land would have grown with this type of hermits. I had immense regard for the great Hindu saint Kundrakkudi Adigalar. The reason is that he nurtured Tamil. As the present pontiff also works for the Tamil development, I have contact with him. Sathuguru does not grow religion. I love him because he grows trees. One may order to bring head, bring hand, bring tongue only, when he grows religion. But one can give excellent advice to people for good living, if he grows trees. Sathguru does that only. I was really taken aback that he could attract such a large gathering of  people. I feel happy also. It may appear very simple about planting trees now, but it would help for nation”s growth”.Last year, on 16-10-2006, the same type of function was organized. http://www.thehindu.com/2006/10/16/stories/2006101616890600.htm

Karunanidhi supporting Jaggi -tree planting- 2012

Jaggi reacts to Karunanidhi: On 29-09-2007, he reacted as follows on various subjects, including Ramasethu! “Only experts in ecology, heritage and economic aspects should decide what should happen there,” said Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, about the Ramar Sethu issue. In an interview to The Hindu he said: “This is not just about Ramar Sethu. (So Karunanidhi asked him to talk like that or his belief did so?) We are doing this all the time. Whether it is the titanium plant in Tamil Nadu or the car unit in Bengal, the SEZs somewhere else, we are trying to decide things on the streets. This is not the way to build a nation. These things must be decided by knowledgeable people, and those who are qualified to do that.”Religion and spirituality: Elaborating on the activities of the Foundation, he said its essential work was spiritual. “There is a very fundamental difference between religion and spirituality. When you say you belong to a certain religion, you naturally say that you are a believer. But the moment you say you are on a spiritual path, you are a seeker. A scientist is a seeker. In fact, they are in the same boat. One is seeking the outside realities. The other is seeking the inner realities.” Speaking on religion, Jaggi Vasudev said most religions probably started as a device for ultimate human well-being. “But these devices, over a period of time, are standing up like demons, ready to devour humanity. Whether they devour or not, they have definitely divided humanity. Unfortunately in a way you can’t unite, at least in the immediate span of time.”  Referring to the event held in Chennai recently, in which Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi participated, he points out that about 4.5 lakh people were present. “With no politics, no God, no enemy, you can’t gather so many people. But now, people are coming just to change their lives. We call it the silent revolution of self realisation.” On the Foundation’s involvement with the Tamil Nadu Government, he said, “For me, this does not mean an alignment with the Tamil Nadu Government or a particular party. People have honoured somebody with leadership. I have no business not to honour that.”‘Ethos of our culture’: The spiritual sciences were woven into the cultural fabric of India. And this science was expressed in the story form because India is a dialectical culture. Somewhere along the way, a few generations dropped the science and carried just the stories. Stories without science get exaggerated to ridiculous levels, he said.  “People should dare to look at life through current intelligence. That has been the ethos of this culture. There is no one book, one belief system we should follow. People can create their own gods. The god-making industry exists only in India and it’s fantastic. Nobody’s interested in God. People think God is a free ticket to well-being. People are interested in well-being.”

Karunanidhi -Hindu thief-- 2013

How Reverence changes from Jaggi to Sankaracharya? The repeated addressing of Jaggi as “Jagathdguru” is interesting in the context, as everybody knows, generally, it refers to Sankaracharya. But he never showed any such reverence to any Sankaracharya. How then, his sudden reverence to “Jaggi”? Of course, he has explained his own yardstick of measuring and assessing Turavis and Samiyars. He can only assess and judge them. Therefore, a dangerous situation is created in Tamilnadu, where certain religious leaders or Gurus are set against other religious Gurus and heads. Here, the religious Heads and Gurus should ponder over what they are upto? Karunanidhi as a CM may threaten them with HR C ” E Act for dire consequences. But, against the God, believers and scriptures, could they stoop down to such a mean level? Can they cheat their devotees and followers?

Hindus are thieves, bandits, barbarians, etc: Some years back in 2002, Karunanidhi drew the ire of some sections when he called Hindus “thieves”. “Do Hindus have a religion? Who is a Hindu? If you ask some right thinking people they’ll say that Hindu actually means a thief. I do no consider that to be a despicable thief, but a thief who has stolen the hearts,” He had stated while addressing a public meeting in 2002 organised by Muslim and Christian outfits to protest the anti-conversion ordinance of the then Jayalalithaa Government. Later, he reportedly clarified that he had merely quoted from a Hindi Encyclopedia published from Varanasi. “It had defined a Hindu as cruel, servant and bandit. Nevertheless, I chose to ignore that definition and softened it to mean as thieves of hearts,” he said – http://www.indianexpress.com/story/219610.html. He could call Hindus “thieves, bandits” and so on. He can call their God Rama a “drunkard” and so on. But none could question him. Even historians and religious heads could support his stand! What sort of secularism or spirituality is followed in
India?

FIR filed against Karunanidhi, case registered against Karunanidhi, but case withdrawn by Karunanidhi: Indians may be having short memory, but what about Hindus? Perhaps, they do not bother about anything! Within five years, Karunanidhi wants to dispose off the case filed against him! What a great ruler! Read the following:

October 24, 2002 – Karunanidhi talks nonsense about Hindus. On November 14, 2003, the Government gave sanction to prosecute Karunanidhi. A chargesheet was also filed and the case was posted for trial. May 21, 2007- On verification on Balasubramaniam, an advocate came to know that on a memo filed by the Public Prosecutor based on a G.O the case had been withdrawn.

Karunanidhi for his recent alleged remarks against the Hindu community, police said on Thursday. The 14th Metropolitan Magistrate Paramaraj had on Wednesday directed police to investigate the complaint filed by one R. Premnath alleging that certain remarks by Karunanidhi had “hurt the sentiments of the Hindus”. The magistrate directed police to register a complaint and submit the preliminary investigation report within three weeks, police said.  Karunanidhi had allegedly made certain remarks against the Hindus at a conference organised in Chennai on October 24, 2002 by the Christian community to protest the anti-conversion law. Govt. withdraws case against Karunanidhi

Chennai, August 9, 2007: The Madras High Court today admitted a petition, challenging a Tamil Nadu Government order, withdrawing a case  against Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, relating to his alleged remarks  against Hindus. A Division Bench of Justice P K Misra and Justice R Banumathi admitted  the Public Interest Litigation and ordered notice, returnable by eight weeks, to Secretary to Public Department and DMK President M  Karunanidhi. In his PIL,Balasubramanian, an advocate, contended that on October, 2002, Karunanidhi made the remarks at a meeting with “a deliberate and malicious intention to hurt the sentiments of Hindus.” His client R Premnath, an advocate, filed a private complaint before a Metropolitan Magistrate. On November 14, 2003, the Government gave sanction to prosecute Karunanidhi. A chargesheet was also filed and the case was posted for trial. On  verification on May 21, 2007, he came to know that on a memo filed by  the Public Prosecutor based on a G.O the case had been withdrawn.

Contending that Karunanidhi after becoming Chief Minister rescinded the previous G.O by the present one, he said Karunanidhi had no locus standi to withdraw his own case. (Agencies)http://chennaionline.com/colnews/newsitem.asp?NEWSID=%7B2634CDA5-AF7F-4E\FB-BCC2-ED7CCAA28ECF%7D”CATEGORYNAME=TAMIL+NADUhttp://chennaionline.com/colnews/newsitem.asp?NEWSID=%7B2634CDA5-AF7F-4\EFB-BCC2-ED7CCAA28ECF%7D”CATEGORYNAME=TAMIL+NADUhttp://www.hindu.com/thehindu/holnus/401200707161970.htm

It is said that no one should sit as a judge in his own case, but Karunanidhi does, because, he has been above Court, Act and rules. This has been a classical case proving that Karunanidhi does not respect law. So it is very dangerous to have such persons as rulers. Even Tiruvalluvar condemns such type of rulers. We do not know whether it is “Dravidian culture” or “Muslim culture”, or “Christian culture” he is following. Robert Clive and Warren Hastings had done such frauds. So can we say Karunanidhi follows them? Sir Isaac Newton has done it in condemning his enemy Leibniz. So can we say Karunanidhi followed Newton? Perhaps, that is why, he used to openly say and do it (We do what we say). No Court, no law nothing. Is it Hitlerism or otherwise? Or we call it “Karunanidhism” which may supercede all types fascism etc? When this is the position of a person occupying the highest chair, what would be the actions of his followers? Would they care for law or not? What would be position of people of Tamilnadu?

Ideologization of Judiciary and courts: The above discussion makes to think about the clear ideologization of Indian Judiciary and courts by the vested interests of Politicians. Here also, typically, the atheist, Communist, so-called minorities have been ganged up against one group. The Judges, Solicitor Generals, Public Prosecutors, ACGSCs, Councils and others at State and Central government level are blatantly nominated by the ruling parties with political and that too ideological affiliations. How then, they could give judgments against Rulers or their appointed masters? Above all, their ideology works at various levels satisfying their psycho-somatic needs. Indians may have to come out of this type of situation. The more irony is that a ruler can withdraw cases filed against himself! If that is the case, what about the cases filed against others? Perhaps, it is very easy. If a CM wants, he can arrest and put in jail ant religious leader or he can share with him in a dias and appreciate his work as divine”! Long live “atheist spirituality”!
