Sexual harassment complaint given in March 2021 and no action taken: When the print and electronic media have been running daily commentaries on the PSBB, Siva Sankar Baba etc., they have been silent on the sexual harassment cases of Habeeb Mohammed and Paul Chandramohan. Now, based on Tamil media reports, the English media has started reporting without any new or further details. The OPIndia repeats, “Female students of Bishop Heber College in Tiruchirappalli have filed a complaint of sexual misconduct against Paul Chandramohan, the head of the Tamil department, reports Swarajya. According to the reports, five postgraduate students of Bishop Heber College, Trichy, submitted a five-page complaint with the college’s principal, accusing Head of Department Paul Chandramohan of sexually harassing them in the past[1]. Paul Chandramohan, who holds a PhD in Tamil Christian Literature has served in the college for over 20 years”[2]. The OpIndia relies upon Swarajya and Swarajya on “Puthiya Thalaimurai.”[3] The Swarajya boasts of upholding values and so on, but, coming to this type of reporting, they just copy from others and post as their news[4]. In other words, they themselves have exhibited their own bias of not going into the details or bringing anything new in this case.

Five girl students gave written complaint against Paul Chandramohan: The Bishop Heber College, Trichy is established and managed by the Tiruchirappalli – Thanjavur Diocese of the Church of South India.  In a written letter to the college principal, five post-graduate students said Paul Chandramohan sexually harassed them regularly by sitting in close proximity and cracking sexual jokes. “During class hours, he sits extremely close to the girls and uses vulgar language and double meaning sexual innuendos, making the students despise him. He loosens the shirt and pants towards the end, making the students uncomfortable,” the letter reads. The victim students also alleged that Paul Chandramohan engaged in various forms of sexual harassment, such as rubbing his legs against them[5]. He even went on to say that he would ‘teach’ them about the kind of experience that lovers would have in an intimate setting in parks and such, the letter said[6].

Nalini aided and abetted Paul Chandramohan: The students also alleged that Paul Chandramohan would force them to visit his private chamber inside the college premise. Assistant Professor Nalini often forced victims to wash face, wear make-up before meeting Paul Chandramohan. According to the aggrieved students, Nalini, an assistant professor in the Tamil department, often forced them to wash their faces and apply makeup before visiting the head of the department in his chamber. In the letter, the students said that the sexual misconduct has forced them to discontinue from the institution.

The Hindu’s cryptic report: The Hindu gives small report, that too, appeared in the Trichy edition. The report goes like this, “The Internal Complaints Committee had confirmed the veracity of the complaint that a group of girl students had lodged with the Principal in March, 2021 and had submitted its report during April, 2021[7]. As per Section 13 (4) of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act and Rules, 2013, the employer has to act upon the recommendations within 60 days from the time of submission of the recommendations, and the college had acted accordingly, senior advocate and external member of the Committee, Jayanthi Ranee, said[8]. The college had convened an urgent meeting of its Governing Board on Wednesday 30-06-2021, to issue the suspension order, sources said. In compliance with the recommendations of its Internal Complaints Committee, Bishop Heber College on Wednesday suspended its Head of the Department of Tamil C. J. Paul Chandra Mohan, against whom students had complained of sexual harassment”.

Paul  Chandramohan suspended, dismissed or arrested?: The Indian Herald repeats all adding one line[9], “The police have also started an investigation into the allegations”.  Of course, it carried news in its own way differing from the above[10]. So far, the local Tamil media has not reported about his arrest. The Hindu news has been repeated by others including Yahoo.News.  Evidently, these English media have not gone into the details, but restrict their reporting, perhaps, to prove their “secular” leanings acting, in fact, communally siding with such “minorities.”  As officially, no police complaint has been given, no action has been taken by them. Coming to his  “career” status, the media confuses it been “suspension” and “dismissal”! Though, he has been habitual offender involving in such sexual harassment and excesses, he has already been suspended twice earlier and this is third time.

The welfare and protection of children in homes and special schools: Most of the faculty of the college has attended many seminars and conferences on the “sexual harassment of women” etc. E. Adaikalasamy has submitted thesis on, “A study on the socialexclusion of women with disabilities in Tiruchirappali District, Tamilnadu, India” with the Bharadhidasan University, Trichy[11]. A special meeting called by the council of Church of South India, Trichy-Tanjore Diocese, witnessed discussion on welfare schemes, community development and spirituality of the congregation, from October 6 to 8, 2019. Rt. Rev. D.Chandrasekaran, Bishop and Chairman of Bishop Heber College, who chaired the meeting, interacted with 250 participants comprising Priests and Laities representing the geographical stretch from the Anamalai Hills to Nagapattinam (central Tamil Nadu). Schemes were evaluated on the welfare and protection of children in homes and special schools[12]. The meeting resolved to ensure safety of children studying in schools and colleges and extend fee concession to the poor. Very poor students would be given full sponsorship by well-wishers of the diocese. Projects for providing residential facilities to senior citizens were appraised and policies for their admission into homes were amended. A new home for the aged was proposed at Dharapuram. It was decided that the facility would be established within a short span of time.

Atrocities against women and children, and sexual harassment at the work place were discussed to give stringent punishment[13]: Alcoholism, atrocities against women and children, and sexual harassment at the work place were discussed to give stringent punishment. Discussion on hospital care and educational institutions was carried out and plan of action was evolved. The existence of Trichy Diocese for the past 100 years had resulted into producing thousands of good citizens, participants said emphasising establishment of as many homes as possible to elevate poor children including orphans, physically challenged and special children. Speakers said that the Trichy CSI Mission Hospital has been renovated with advanced ICU facility and cardiology department. Officials of the council mooted more measures for uplift of the poor.

From 1997 to 2021, Paul Chandramohan was suspended for three / four times:

1. In 1997, he was suspended as he sexually harassed the girls of the hostel situated within the campus of the Bishop Heber college. As his wife with two children came to the Bishop and pleaded that they were suffering, because, of her husband’s suspension (citing economic reasons) and the then, principal Samiraj condoned him and restored his job.
2. Ironically, he did not stop his sexual pranks, sensual jinks and sensuous frivolities, by resorting to write poetry describing his college Nalini running into many pages. This became a big issue and he was suspended for six months. That is, he joined duty happily, after “six months”!
3. In 2015, when he was about to be promoted, a video surfaced, in which he was found with a woman in a room in a very close, intimate and compromising conditions. Thus, he was denied promotion, when the affair reached the management. Here, it was not clearly known, whether he was suspended or not.
4. Thus, 2021, again, he has been suspended.

Thus, within five years, as he has been suspended three / four times for sexual harassment activities, it is evident that he has been a habitual offender and the CSI Church and college management have taken lenient view for his violation of Acts and Rules.

March to May 2021 very slow action taken: The management of the college has been delaying and taking no or slow action since March 2021. When the details have been leaked and the “Kumudam Reporter” published the whole affair with details, and moreover, its reporter contacted the Bishop, it is evident that the acts has been taken as no other option is available to suppress or delay.

March 2021 – Five girl students gave written complaint against the sexually harassing Paul Chandramohan.

May 2021 – The Enquiry Committee gave a finding report.

29-06-2021 – The CSI Bishop Chandrasekhar met the Chief Minister.

30-06-2021 – Paul Chandramohan has been suspended.

Yet, it is evident that the print and electronic media has been selective and not reporting like the PSBB or Siva Sankar Baba issue. As the case of Habeeb Mohammed has been forgotten with two days, this would be forgotten within three days. However, the Siva Sankar Baba report continues daily in the local Tamil papers!

Clement Raj Chezhiyan: A software engineer in Chennai masquerading as an HR manager of a five-star hotel was able to entice 600 women from 16 States[1]. He was able to convince them to send their nude photos and videos in return for a job in a five-star hotel[2]. It is not known as to who told or such standards practiced in India that if a girl to get a front-office job, sh should strip or  such nude figure should be send for interview and selection. The man named Clement Raj Chezhiyan who is 33 is also known as Pradeep is an employee of a well known IT firm. He has been arrested from Chennai by the cyber branch of the police and taken to Hyderabad. Clement Raj is currently lodged in Cheralapathy jail, near Hyderabad[3]. He was produced before the court. His mobile phones and other electronic gadgets were seized. Raj is married and the couple has a seven-year-old daughter[4]. Had he never thought, what would have been the position when somebody tried with his wife and daughter?

Feeling bore at his present job, he engaged in this nude racket: The techie Clement Raj has told the police during interrogation that he hit on this idea as he was feeling bored at his job[5]. This only proves his culpability of mind and men rea and therefore, the courts should not leave him, but take severe action against him.The accused was on a night shift and during that period he collected telephone numbers of girls all over India[6]. He contacted the girls posing as an HR manager of a five-star hotel. He offered them a job in the front office of the hotel. He also told them that the hotel was very particular about the figure of the girls who they hire. Hence they would have to send their strip-down photo to him. The girls obliged believing the man and nearly 600 of them sent him their nude photos. This is also shocking as to note how these girls could have done so. Had they been so desperate to get a job? Or they lost their morality to do so?

Wanted the girls stripped completely: Subsequently, the accused also contacted them on WhatsApp. He told them that their job would be confirmed, in case they completely stripped down. Again, this proves his extreme culpability in treating girls and women. The modernism has made both men and women, disparage moral values and ethics. This would help the hotel management to assess their suitability for the job. However, in Hyderabad, one of the girls got suspicious and complained to the police cyber branch[7]. The police carried out an investigation and the techie was arrested from Chennai. The Times of India has reported that a woman accomplice Archana Jagdish helped him[8]. Ironical that the girls never bothered about the future, as had some one come to know about their stripping exercise to get a job.

Extorted money also: The techie has now confessed that he has almost 600 photographs of nude girls stored on his laptop. The police were able to break the password of the laptop and access the photos. Further investigation is on. As per the police, sometimes this man also blackmailed the girls. That means, his intention of making money is also revealed. He may have sold the photos on the internet. Again, this is serous to note such type of business also exists in India. He appears to have made a tidy sum of money in the bargain[9]. He has collected several lacs using this modus operandi.  “Clement used to save the videos using a password. His mobile phone will be sent to a laboratory for further investigations. We will be able to get more details after detailed investigations,” said the police officer[10].

Hyderabad becoming Cyberabad, sexabad and crime-bad: Many people are surprised that such a thing has happened in India. Some people have opined that it is difficult to digest that a girl will strip on WhatsApp in the hope of getting a job in a hotel. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction and there appears to be some truth in the story. The cyber branch of the police has now taken the man morbid, perverse and macabre Clement in custody. The techie has told the police that as his wife was working in the office in the daytime and he had a night shift, he was getting bored. He hit on this idea just to keep himself busy. The New Indian Express has reported that nearly 60 of the victims are from Hyderabad. Of course, a Hyderabad girl only sensed  awful and complained, so that the animal is caught.

How could girls strip and send photos for job?: The internet is flooded with pornographic material. Despite the best efforts of the government of India, it is difficult to police the net. Perhaps, the accused would have gone scot-free, in case the girl from Hyderabad had not reported to the police. Many people wonder about the sort of girls who stripped before the camera, just to land a job in a five-star hotel. This shows the prevalent culture in India where promiscuity is on the rise. A Major -General has just been dismissed for sexual harassment. India is home to the largest Film industry in the world. This lends glamour to everyday life fuelling the imagination of women, who wish to rise in life and get a job by any means.

IT girls, chastity and social problems: For the last three decades, many issues and problems have cropped up involving girls working in IT industry. Earlier garment and leather factories used to be the hub of sexual harassment and “industrial prostitution” for job, promotion, increment and so on. The girls, women and others whether married or not, with children or not, the co-male worker, supervisor, manager, MD and foreign visitors , local politicians and the whole gang used to prey on them to satisfy their sexual thirst. Now, such brothel-hood has reached IT industries of all sorts. Ironically, educated, highly savvy and elite categories are involved in such IT-debauchery. As cine-actresses, models and others have created a wrong precedence, the girls and young women have started thinking or made-up their minds, there is nothing wrong in such acts, as long as they help, prompt and elevate their careers. But, in society and family, there have been many issues and problems cropping up, as no husband would or could relish that his wife has already been in the bed with some other person. Of course, girl also could question the morality of her husband. However, the sufferers have been their parents and children. Thus, more and more divorces, breakage of families and parents dumped in age-old homes.  This is not way India can afford to continue and proceed. These IT guys and girls should change otherwise, let them go to US and EU to live according to their standards. Let India live peacefully.

Sex-terrorism in India: This type of sexual harassment, molestation and rape amount to “sexual terrorism,” because, with which, the spoilers have been trying to degrade, disparage and destroy Indian womanhood. This bomb planted would explode in houses, affecting society and nation. Unfortunately, these type of sex-terrorist are in ultra-modern IT industries of all sorts. It is unbelievable that if a girl send strip-photo, she would get a job at the front office of five-star hotel. Really, it is shocking to note why the 600 girls, their parents and others have been silent even after the bomb exploded. Earlier such type sexploitation and debauchery used to exist in the garment manufacturing and leather factories. But, now, its active working in IT industries has been dangerous. No clemency should be shown to this animal – Clement Raj Chezhiyan and he should he hanged, after trial and adjudication.

Two Madras Christian College professors face sexual harassment: One dismissed and the other indicted by the Madras High Court!

Co-educational Christian institutions were highly unsafe for the future of their children:  Observing that Christian missionaries face accusations of indulging in forcible religious conversions, the Madras High Court said, “there was a general feeling” among parents, especially of girl children, that co-educational Christian institutions were highly unsafe for the future of their children[1]. Dismissing a case filed by a Madras Christian College (MCC) faculty accused of sexually harassing some girls during a study tour to Karnataka in January, Justice S. Vaidyanathan said[2], most parents were of the view that though Christian institutions impart good education, “the preach of morality will be a million dollar question.” Under ultra-modern conditions, the judge has made such observation that[3], “co-educational Christian institutions were highly unsafe for the future of their children”. Definitely, such remarks would not have come from a judge, because of the prevailing situation and many pedophile cases and other sexual harassment cases have been coming to courts involving pastors, bishops and others all over India[4]. As many educational institutions are under their controlled, it is quite natural to apprehend about the future of their children studying at schools and grown-up students going to colleges[5]. Even for conversions also, only, now such complaints are made, as the Christian missionaries have been so desperate to cover up their crimes committed in many areas affecting the society. As it has been reported by PTI, other dailies and on-line media carried the news[6].

Raveen Rajasingh and Samuel Tennyson – the two indulged in the sexual harassment The alleged harassment occurred during an academic tour to Mysuru, Bengaluru and Coorg in January this year[7]. In fact, the girl-students asked them to be within the limits. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the college had found two professors of the college — R Raveen and Samuel Tennyson — guilty of sexually harassing students[8].  During the trip, several girl students complained that the professor in question made lewd remarks about their clothes, harassed them and behaved inappropriately[9]. They also alleged that throughout the trip, Tennyson had abetted Raveen’s behaviour by encouraging him[10]. Raveen even entered a room where girls were staying and slept on the bed. On returning to Chennai, the students complained to the Head of the Department who dismissed their complaints, calling it a ‘first time offence’ by the said teacher. Later, a petition signed by 30 odd students of the department protesting the college’s lack of initiative in addressing the issue caught the attention of the authorities. An ICC inquiry was held on the issue, and statements of the students who were subjected to harassment and the accused professors were recorded. On May 24, the ICC released the results of the inquiry which found both the professors guilty. R Raveen, who was an assistant professor in the Zoology department was dismissed after a detailed inquiry by the college Internal Complaints Committee into the incident.  His colleague Samuel Tennyson, another faculty from the department, too had been accused of abetting Raveen’s behaviour. However, the college is yet to dismiss Samuel due to a case filed by him on the issue in the Madras High Court. MCC’s principal Alexander Jesudasan confirmed the dismissal. “We have dismissed the professor after the ICC found him guilty of multiple cases of sexual harassment against students of the department. As for Samuel, the college cannot issue a dismissal order as there is a court case pending on the issue. However, the court has directed Samuel not to enter the campus premises,” the principal said.

Samuel Tennyson tried to evade the proceedings by filing a petition in the High Court: Samuel Tennyson, an assistant professor in the Zoology department of the college, in a writ petition had sought to quash the fact finding report of the college’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) dated April 17, 2019. The report had stated that Tennyson had sexually harassed female students[11]. He also sought to quash the consequential second show cause notice dated May 24, 2019. Besides the probe, the college management had issued him a warning and barred him from paper-evaluation work and internal examinership for the end semester 2018-2019. He was also barred from accompanying students for tours for three years. Tennyson argued in the court that the ICC did  not given him certain documents and statements he had sought to defend himself. The college and the committee said that sufficient opportunity was given to him to defend[12]. Had Samuel not filed petition in the Court, these details would not have come in the media, so that the general public could understand the reality of the condition and discuss.

Judge could note the prima facie and took decision:  He made the remarks in the judgment after dealing with the writ petition on merits and refusing to interfere with a show-cause notice issued by the college management to the petitioner on the basis of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) report that a prima facie case had been made out against him on a complaint lodged by 34 students. Naming one of the girl students who had deposed before the ICC and provided a vivid account of the events that unfolded during the study tour, the judge suggested that she be provided appropriate counselling. He blamed the college for having deputed only two female teachers and five male teachers to accompany the students during the tour. In other words, not only these two, perhaps, others had also knowingly aided and abetted the sexual crime. Nowadays, it is intriguing to note that women are engaged in degrading women. But, here, as all have been highly educated, this type of attitude is unimaginable.

As long as a religion is practised in streets in lieu of its worship places such devastation: After concluding his verdict, the judge said: “Before parting with the judgment, this court feels it appropriate to point out that Christian missionaries are always on the source of attack in one way or the other and in the present era, there are several accusations against them for indulging in compulsory conversion of people from other religions. “As long as a religion is practised in streets in lieu of its worship places such devastation, as in the present case, does (sic) occur and will be mushrooming.” The judge went on to state he does not want to probe further and find out whether the petitioner was really at fault or was he a victim of a false complaint. The judge pointed out the reality of the secularism practiced in India. When what has to be carried on within the precincts of “place of worship” is carried on the roads, it is quite natural that such acts violate acts and rules and affect others also. Praying and or preaching on the roads, cannot be done, as they violate secularism.

Women Acts and Rules should be amended suitably: Disposing the petition, Justice S Vaidyanathan, in the order on August 13, 2019 said that there is no justifiable ground to interfere with the fact finding report as well as the second show cause notice[13]. However, the judge, without going into “the question of who is at fault in the present case”, observed that the government should think of amendments to laws meant for women protection “to prevent its misuse so as to safeguard the interest of the innocent masculinity too[14]. A similar trend is already being observed in the case of anti-dowry law (498-A), which is being misused to such an extent that the Supreme Court has termed it legal terrorism,” The court also observed[15], “we have to ask a question for ourselves as to whether those laws are invoked by women with genuine reasons.” Stating that several women centric enactments had been misused to teach a lesson to men in strained relationships, the judge said[16], “This is the right time for to think of suitable amendments in those laws in order to safeguard the interest of the innocent,” and directed the High Court Registry to mark a copy of his judgment to the Union Ministry of Law and Justice.

Why certain sex crimes are suppressed, not reported and nottaken into consideration by researchers?: The rape of children (below 18 years), sexual exploitation of women and nuns, pedophiles and all other sorts of sexual crimes have been going on increase, yet, the whole lot of educated, elite and even researchers, historians, women activists and others do not discuss, do not bring the cases into their analysis, as if nothing happened in India[1]. Just in February 2019, when South Indian History Congress was held in Hyderabad, such trend is noted. G. J. Sudhakar delved upon the topic, “Child rights in India – A Historical perspective,” in an abstract way theoretically without touching upon the rights of Indian children violated in India for the last 50 years by the foreigners and Christian missionaries under “pedophile,” sex-tourism and categories. Though, he went on mentioning Acts, he did not whisper about the Supreme Court judgments[2] where foreign and missionary were arrested and even sent to jail. The judgment cited has been illustrative and there have been many cases. Even a general newspaper reader has been seized of such issues, as thousands of such pedophile cases are reported in the newspapers and TV reports[3]. Therefore, it is surprising that the professors had decided not to mention.

Why pedophile crimes are suppressed?: To cite a media report[4], “According to the National Crime Records Bureau a total of 12,363 cases of child rape were reported in the country during 2013 as compared to 8,541 in 2012 accounting for an increase of 44.7%. The maximum child rape cases were reported in Madhya Pradesh (2,112 cases) followed by Maharashtra (1,546 cases) and Uttar Pradesh (1,381 cases). These three states together accounted for 40.8% of the total child rape cases reported in the country. A 2007 WCD study found that more than half (53%) of the children interviewed said that they had been subjected to one or more forms of sexual abuse. Over 20% of those interviewed said they were subjected to severe forms of abuse. Of those who said they were sexually abused, 57% were boys”.

Mahila court sentenced the rapists and  pimps: The Cuddalore District Mahila Court / court sessions judge D Lingeswaran on 07-01-2019, Monday awarded 30-year jail term to a CSI church priest involved in the horrifying Tittakudi rape case of 2014, involving two minor girls from the district and trafficking gangs from across the State[5]. Nine others were sentenced to life imprisonment[6]. The court found 16 of the 17 accused guilty of abduction, sexual assault and other charges. Priest Aruldoss, who sexually assaulted the girls, was also slapped with a fine of Rs 5 lakh. Anbazhagan, the gang’s kingpin from Salem was sentenced to life in prison and fined Rs 3.21 lakh. Sridhar, the driver who took the children to different places, was sentenced to two life terms and fined Rs 4.4 lakh. They were sentenced to different jail terms ranging from double rigorous life terms to one-year rigorous imprisonment after holding them guilty of crimes including kidnapping two minor girls, illegally confining them, selling them to gangs involved in prostitution, sexually assaulting them and forcing them to indulge in flesh trade.

Sex racket started at Idli shop and ended with CSI pastor: On June 8, 2014, two minor girls studying in Class 8 and 9 in a government higher secondary school in Thittakudi went missing[7]. After searching everywhere, their parents registered a police complaint on June 11 to recover their kids soon[8]. After an in-depth investigation, police rescued the two girls from a sex broker identified as Satheesh in Vadalur area and found that they were assaulted sexually and forced into prostitution by Pastor Aruldoss and his associates. In other words, the CSI pastor was actively engaged in such racet, exploiting the poverty of the girls. The case dates back to 2014, when a 13-year-old girl from Tittakudi was befriended by Tamilarasi, who used to run an idli shop. The woman then coerced the girl into having sexual intercourse with her husband and other men. The child was later told that she would be let off if she brought another girl to them. The child then brought another victim, a 14-year-old girl from the neighborhood, to the woman. Both girls were sexually assaulted by the men. It is unbelievable that one girl would simple have sex with many and she would bring another girl for her release. As facts are suppressed, the sex trade carried on is suppressed. In the months that followed, they were trafficked to various places in the State including Salem, Panruti, Vadalur, Virudachalam and Ulundurpet and were sexually assaulted by several men. Police investigation found that the two children had been forced to watch pornography and had been sexually assaulted by several men including priest Aruldoss[9]. The father of one of the girls filed a missing complaint with Tittakudi police in July 2014. Meanwhile, the children managed to escape and reached Tittakudi[10].

The judge imposed punishment according to their gravity of crime: Actually, these sex criminals should not be shown any mercy at all, as they have soiled dozens of lives of young girls.  When Pollachi sexual crime was carried on in Hi-tech manner, this has been done at village level in crude manner. Cuddalore mahila court sessions judge D Lingeswaran imposed more than Rs 25 lakh penalty on them after holding them guilty under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012[11]. Seventeen people were arrested in connection with the case but Tamilarasi and her husband Satheesh have been absconding. Of the other five convicts, four were awarded 20-year jail time while one convict got 10-year imprisonment. Punishment for other accused[12]:

• Anandaraj – Four life terms and a fine of Rs 2.1 lakh
• Selvaraj – Three life terms and fine of Rs 30,000
• Mohan Raj and Mathivanan – Two life terms each and fine of Rs 2 lakh
• Fathima – Two life terms and a fine of Rs 4.4 lakh
• Kala alias Mekala, and Lakshmi – Two life terms and a fine of Rs 4.2lakh
• Amudha – ten years in jail and fine of Rs 21,000

Punishment to all: Sridhar – to undergo double rigorous life terms for forcing the two minor girls into prostitution, two 10 years rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping them, another two 10 years rigorous imprisonment for selling them to gangs involved in prostitution and two one-year rigorous imprisonment for illegally confining them. He also slapped penalties to a tune of Rs 4.22 lakh each on them. The judge sentenced two men – Anantharaj and Balasubramanian – to double rigorous life terms for sexually assaulting the minor girls and another double rigorous life terms for forcing them into prostitution and a 10-year rigorous jail term for kidnapping the minor girls besides imposing a fine of Rs 4.1 lakh on them[13]. He sentenced two men – Mohanraj and Mathivanan – to undergo double rigorous life terms for sexually assaulting the minor girls and imposed Rs 2 lakh fine on them. Selvaraj was sentenced to undergo rigorous life imprisonment for the same crime, besides double rigorous life terms for forcing the girls into prostitution, two 10-year rigorous imprisonment for kidnapping them and two 10-years rigorous imprisonment for selling them to pimps[14]. However, it has to be noted as to whether they would go o jail or appeal again.
